Guy tried to take me out in his truck

Well before I get started with my story this involves my crf dirt bike not my cbr, but it still a funny story kinda. I thought I would go for a ride when I got home today before it got dark. There is a field a block down that is owned by an old lumber company (it is shut down) I usally ride there once every couple weeks for maybe 20 mins. If I do anymore people get pissed from the noise. So I was riding for about 10 mins and jumped back on the road to pull a cat walk. Fourth gear I slow down and turn back into the field. I look to my left and this truck is headed right for me! I nail it and he starts chasing me through this field. It was a pretty new chevy avalanch (however u spell it). And this guy is just yelling and giving me the finger and stuff. Finally he stops and gets out and is all pissed. He had me kinda trapped by a couple buildings and there was no way to get to the road because the drive ways where blocked off. So I flew back by him and pulled a nice wheelie again and gave him the finger. He jumped back in his truck and started going after me again. I got onto the road and flew down towards my house. I was far enough ahead where he couldn't see me. I went into the back where the work shop is and opened the door and got in there in just enough time before he went by. He did not see me. Anyways for the next half an hour he road all around the neiborhood looking for me. I jumped in my truck and found him and followed him for a while. Got his plate number and crap so if I come across him again I will have I few words for him. I wanted to pull next to him and give him the finger and crap but I didnt want him to know what my truck looks like.
I believe he owns the buildings and property I was riding on and he was back doing some work. I will get back at him believe me

He could have killed me.

you know... maybe he would have gotten better results if he flagged you down and asked you not to ride on his property.

So you were poaching property that wasn't yours knowing that the noise angers the neighbors, was about to be confronted by the property owner and instead of stopping to talk to him you opted to further antagonize him by doing a wheeling and giving him the bird. Is that right?
Real smooth.
Remind me again why people hate motorcyclists.

First of all I'm sorry for posting this in here... I ment to do the "off topic" one. Like Doncollins said I would have stopped and talked to him if he just flagged me down. I'm not trying to be an A$$ but he was trying to kill me. If I would have stopped I think he would have bet the crap out of me... I mean he was pissed! Why I dont know I have been riding there since I was like 10. There are no signs or anything.
P.S.- He gave me the bird first.

you agravated the situation...and again, you were trespassing...had it been me and you flew by giving me the bird, i would've drop kicked yo A$$...
be smart and stop antagonizing.

When I said he tried to take me out I ment he was inches away. He didn't idle up and wave for me to talk to him he flew up probably doing 40mph ( I was in 4th) with one hand on the wheel and the other one giving me the bird. (thats why I did it back) The the only reason I gave him the bird not because I was trying to me an ass. I was scard sh*tless because I didn't know what was going on. Sorry Tahoe SC I should have stopped and got ran over. Then I could type this to you in the hospital, you tool.

you shouldn't have been there in the first place...bottom line.
oh did i hurt your pride, ego, etc. so much that you had to resort to calling me names on the net? that's really big of you.
if so then just know that what i said wasn't to provoke it or anything but just make you think about it some, that maybe you should play by the rules somewhat.
suppose it was your property, and someone came tearing it up...how would you feel. in texas they're allowed to take you out if you're trespassing.
now if you're ever in socal, stop by my pad and i'll show you how much of a tool i am not.

You did alright transam... and tahoe... I doubt if you can prove anywhere in a Texas law books that you can KILL someone for driving on your property. So, since we're all perfect and never fracture any laws, we can start riding cruisers. I mean, why do we need sport bikes if all we ever do is the posted speed limit. so what's the difference of us breaking the speed limit or someone riding on an open field that has been abandon for some time.
I road in the dirt from the time I could walk. I couldn't count the times that my friends and I were riding in wooded (mostly power line trails) and heard shit fly by us in the woods and hearing a gun shot a few seconds later. Old people didn't like us riding any where that they could hear us. What gives anyone the right to use lethal force (guns or cars/truck) to stop people from doing something? My first post was backing transam saying that the land owner should have used diplomacy to inform you that you are trespassing and he wants you to stop. Not try to kill or scare you off.
Ok, everyone shake hands and get along please.… this isn’t church, we’re not hear to judge each other.

No, this is the Church of the Painful Truth

Just remember, that which does not kill you makes you stronger. You learned a valuable lesson -- dude that owns the land is a prick. If I was the dude that owned the land I'd have handled the situation differently but hey, shit happens and you move on. Glad nobody got hurt. Now let's move along ... nothing to see here

What are you the town's mayor, give the guy some slack man. Hey, you come at me with a truck and I'll do the same thing. It's all in the aproach.

Nope, I'm the deputy ... and I was cutting him some slack. I have people ride on my property all the time. As long as they don't act stupid I have no problem with it. I never said the dude in the truck acted appropriately. In fact if transam dude wanted to he could press charges of assault with a motor vehicle. All the other guy could come back with is trespassing (only if it is posted) which is maybe a $100 fine for first offense.

You can shoot for trespassing in Texas, and I would of done the same thing. Trespassing is no excuse for trying to run you down.

I have also heard that Texas is the only state where you can use force to "protect private property". Though I've got to believe that the law is not so liberal as to allow some one to shoot you for stepping on or even riding on their land. My bet is that the law goes back to the cattle rustling days when that kind of aggresive defense was required.
Come on someone in Texas has to be a member here to answer this question with some credibility. I'm to lazy or I mean busy to research it myself.

I am a texan. It's a law to my knowledge. The way I understand it is they have to be on your property when you shoot them and it has to be for a reason. The person must also be on your property when the cops arrive.

Maybe there is more to the story. Maybe he has been riding on this guy's property for a long time. Maybe the guy has tried to talk to him in the past, but just got dusted as some trespasser blows by him on his dirtbike trying to get away. Possibly he was at his witts end. You never know.

ha man you arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics even if you win your retarded lol. sorry i saw that somewhere its legal in kentucky my home state to fire at an intruder in you home and property thats law was a state trooper. but anyhow they guy was f___ked up for trying to slay you with a truck. he could have done it differently but maybe he has it happen to him alot from others and finally just snapped. i would try to talk to him to see what his deal is if your wrong you wrong homie. you should have asked first. but sometimes we all are a little rebellious. if not england would still run this mother.

ouch.... careful, we have lots of brits on here
I hope it didn't look like I'm arguing. I was trying to make a point about the you not legally allowed to shoot someone for standing, driving, or anything or your front yard. Technically, you can't shoot them if they are in your home. Not for that reason, you have to feel threaten, or in fear of yours or your families life. I know, I have 2 9mm within arm reach of my bed, one is mine and the other is my wife’s. Yes, if I see a shadow walking through my home... I'll have an empty clip, reload with the spare right beside the gun and then have a look. IF you're in my home in the middle of the night, you're out to do harm. But the law clearly states, you can not use lethal force to stop someone from stealing from you (like you bike or car) or for trespassing. Please, post a link to any states codes that states other wise.
I can pull this up all day long, find me one stating the opposite
Laws on Self Defense Simply put, an eye for an eye. If you think he's going to kill you, then you're good. If he is doing a burnout in your front yard and you drop him, good luck. You'll be in an orange jump suit awaiting trail.
Another weird side note... in Virginia, a woman can use lethal force to fight off a rape attack, but a man can not.

that's some great info don...
i'll be sure to wear a butt plug so i don't get raped in that state since i'm not allowed to beat the mofo do death.
so...lug nuts eh? not a very advice IMO...we're out to give us a good rep not a bad one...doing that you're just asking for trouble.

Well I would be pissed if you were riding on my lawn, but again would talk to you about it, not try to run you over. Flatten his tires for being a jerk...LOL!
I've been yelled at for pulling up behind someone with my highbeams on and I really felt like popping the guy in the nose. I'm always highbeamed all the time for them, but this guy was just plain pissed...as if I took the sun and put it in his face....some people are just assholes...

Well I am back... I went north last week hunting. I'm sure you guys didn't miss me

And no he never tried to talk to me before. It would really help if you could see the place I am talking about. I see some people are pictureing it alot different than it is. I know it is someone elses property but I have been playing in that field for over 15 years. Every kid in the neiborhood would make little jumps and crap on our bike when we were little. Still alot of 4 wheelers and stuff ride around there with no problem. It was just very shocking what happened. I don't like to start crap and I never said I should have the right to ride there. I know I was breaking the law. I just thought it could have went a little better lol. I know pretty much everyone on this site breaks the law everytime they get on there bike.

At least I do.
