Two wheels get a wave if I'm not to busy with the road. People that don't wave back...eh, who cares.

+1 even CHIPs get em from me.
There has been a divide over the years between style of bikes and who rides em. But the wave was a motorcycle rider thing not a group specific thing, which it is turning into. So I wave at em all, like me or not!!

You can tell when they aren't gonna wave because they always stare straight ahead and act like they don't see you... I don't wave to groups either because they never ever ever wave. Maybe once in a blue moon the wife on the back will wave and I always wave back if I see that.
I'd like to think it's because they are so upset they bought the wrong brand and they don't want to acknowledge the existance of an alternative. Or it's because the vibrations have literally made their hands go numb and they think they are waving. Maybe they're even smiling!

I wave at em all....and unlike most people that have replied, I take offense to not being waved back at.
+1 to vpsophmore....I hate the pricks that pretend they don't even see you...That's my problem with the Harley pricks, they are so full of themselves. Ironic for being on a sluggish bike that can barely turn.

Everyone gets wave. We're all on two wheels...right? I just don't know what to do about scooters now. They're everywhere!!!
Do you guys wave at scooters or not? I usually do because of the two-wheel "brotherhood".

Everyone gets a wave regardless of what they are on--unless I'm busy with what's in front of me. I get about half of them back from Harley riders, and when they don't wave I usually say "Well **** you then, too cool for me" to myself inside my helmet. Then I'm over it.
Best was when I passed my Father going the opposite direction and didn't wave back to him (he was on a Harley that day)--you shoulda heard the phone call I got that night. Weird thing was, he was 180 miles from home, and I was 50 miles from home--just both out for random rides. What are the chances?

I wave at everyone. When they dont wave back it pisses me off because it makes me think they think they are better than me...oh well i tried at least, right?

I wave when possible, but a lot of times I'm behind another car and clutching or something. The funniest is when I wave to a rider on a scooter. They look like they have no idea what I'm doing. heck, i wave to cars sometimes depending on what the women look like. The helmet with a dark visor makes the confidence go up.

i wave to everyone also. Most of the time when im on my cruiser the harley guys wave back, cbr not so much. To me i actually feel stupid when they dont wave back thinking to myself damn you are an idiot for waving to that tool! but whatever right. we are all the same sportbike cruiser and even scooters. were all out there to ride and all encounter the same close calls for what we love.

I waved at a scooter on Sunday. The guy ignored me...

i wave to everybody, i'd say i get about 80% wave back from all (i don't notice harley's not waving back at any higher of a rate as other sport bike riders). There are times I don't expect a wave back, during turns, start ups after a waiting at a light, etc. There is also the "new rider" factor, I assume many new riders don't feel comfortable waving yet so I like to give the non-waver the benefit of the doubt.
The only time I find an awkward waving situation is when going in the same direction as another rider on the highway or something. When do you wave? When you are passing them? When you are next to them? When you are behind them and notice them look in their mirror? No wave at all??? I typically give a head nod or a little wave when I pass or am near them, just for acknowledgement.

I've made that mistake before.
If a biker passes me I usually get the wave and I do the same.

I waved at a scooter one time on accident. Hell the front of it looked like another street bike. Around here the guys on scooters are DUI loosers. They shouldn't even be allowed on the road. I hate it when I see scooters outside of a bar. Feel like goin in and askin how bad it has to get to realize there's a problem.

I wave at 'em all. We're all in it for the same reason, I just prefer a sport bike style...and my Big Dog. I like 'em all.

I say all of us here should make it a rule to wave to everyone on two wheels. That kind of stuff can be contageous. I understand what you mean about the typical harley rider. Whenever I see a harley guy wave back, I think "there's a guy who has a kid who rides a sportbike"
This reminds me of a funny story (I've told it here before). When I first started riding, a guy I know was explaining to me how to "properly" wave to other guys on bikes. He goes "If they're on a cruiser, give them an open hand, above the bar. If they're on a sport bike, with your hand below the bar, sort of point to the ground with your index and middle finger together. If they're on a 250, don't wave." I laughed at first and then realized "Hey f#ck you, I ride a 250!!!" LOL!
Anyway, the reason I brought up the story again is because as I get older, I realize that classifying people makes no sense, and serves no purpose. Whether you ride a Harley, Honda, Triumph, Suzuki, Indian, Ducati, BMW, Aprilla, or anything else, it doesn't matter. Life's too short to get hung up on details. Just wave mother4ucker!

i wave to all bikes unless i'm on it too hard to remove a hand from the clip on's LOL! If they don't wave back then F**k them-I don't care. I do notice alot of HD riders don't wave at sport bikes. I guess we wear to much gear for them LOL!

You pass them and drop a downwards peace sign.
For the rest, I wave to most Harleys, no scooters, all sports bikes, and ALL cops.
