i know you guys see a lot of questions about what tires are better and what not and i have been reading thouse threads i was gona change tires but was wondering. well im going on my 3rd set of tires since i bought the bike and have been running D208 GP mediums its what the prior owner had on the bike and i bought the second set just to keep the ride familar well do you guys think i should buy a 3rd set just to keep the bike the same till i get use to the bike some more or get a diffrent set. i sorta like these tires but what is your opinion of them. im in no rush for tires i figure i still got a 1000 miles on the set i have and i got a lot of riding out of the last set thats why i want to keep them .

Try something else. It's fun to try different tires and feel how much of an impact different compounds and profiles make. I don't think they make the 208's anymore. Do Metzelers or Pirellis.

my 06' came with circa 2000 model d207 sliplops. they were descent in thier day, but now thier a runnin joke (thier useable but don't provide much confidence). i can't wait to wear em out so i can throw on some pilot powers or qualifiers and get some real grip. hell my 00' r6 came with the exact same tire

The Q's are the replacement for your tires.

What I have read for research on them, is depending on how you ride. If you are hard and fast you can see a short of life of 2500 miles. If you are a casual rider, you can get around 7000 maybe. I will have to see when I get mine. But I ride hard and fast, but for 229.00 I can afford to burn them up and then go after the 2CT's. They have soft rubber on the sides for cornering and hard rubber in the center for touring. But a bit more in price, so I will run the Pilots til they show cords.

Well, if you're mainly doing touring, you could go with the Michelin Pilot Road. It's a touring/sport tire whereas the Pilot Power is more of a straight sport tire. Also, the Pilot Road is supposed to last closer to 10k miles and still handle very well. I was going to go with the Pilot Road on my last purchase because of the life and the fact that I don't get to get out on many corner carving rides as much as I commute back and forth to work. But I ended up going with the Power's because the local shop I get all my stuff from gave me the Powers installed for the same price as the Roads(which they were already giving me a huge discount on) because I'm a good customer. Supporting local shops really does pay back in the end. ;)
Oh, and I absolutely LOVE the Pilot Power by the way. That's me on the Pilot Powers in my avatar going over 80mph through that left hander. They still felt like they had tons of grip, but that's more than should be done on public roads already so I wasn't going to really push them.

http://www.michelin.com/corporate/actualites/en/actu_affich.jsp?id=19424&lang=EN&codeRubrique=58 they seem like they will match my level of riding much better then pilot powers as 85% of my riding is commuting. i really apreciate all your guys help on the matter.
