Is anyone else slightly bothered by the cbr's headlight system (just one side for standard lights, both for high beams)? I dunno, it just seems like a strange system to me. To someone who doesnt know cbr's, they would probably think one of your bulbs is burnt out. I think it would look better if it used both lights to keep things symmetrical. Does anyone else feel the same as me, or is that just my OCD coming out?

Has anyone modified their light system so that it uses both bulbs at the same time?

Ive been hearing alot about both headlights on but turning high beam down....im thinkin i might try the same thing but is there any reason why i shouldnt do it.By that i mean the other headlight is the same as the low just aimed higher correct and is there goin to be a battery drain for running 2 lights?..It looks like its gonna get 60's today.Time to plan a riding day.

I hear it all the time that i got a headlight out when on low beam, and then i tell them it was made like that then i get that WHY question and i tell them to call up Honda and ask them cause i didnt design it like that, i have heard of people getting pulled over because of that, so far i havent had a problem though.

ya the cops in nj, like trying to pull me over and saying you have a headlight out, so now i just drive with high beams on, and let them flash me

does having your high beams on all the time have any negative effects on the bike (i.e. burn the battery out quicker, etc)?

RUN WITH BOTH ON, WHEN YOU GET FLASHED THINK OF IT AS THEM SAYING
HI NICE BIKE, AND NOW THAT WE CAN SEE YOU WE WONT TURN IN FRONT OF YOU AND KILL YOU.

IF THEY PULL UP NEXT TO YOU AND TELL YOU YOUR HIGH BEAMS ARE ON SAY
THANKS YOU SAW ME AND DIDNT HIT ME!

I have been keeping my cbr on high beams.

I have had a bunch of people tell me that I had a headlight out when I first got the bike. So I decided to keep both on for two reasons mainly:

1. I didn't feel like always explaining that Honda designed it that way to random people and friends
2. If random people think your headlight is out, so will a cop that does not know much about bikes. I try to stay as far away as possible from cops and having only one headlight on seems to me as drawing more negative attention towards yourself from cops.

I haven't yet had someone flash me with both on, and also with both headlights on, I am not worried about a retarded cop pulling me over for a headlight out and possibly giving me a ticket for something else.

In my opinion, don't give a cop a reason to pull you over, keep both on!! ;)

Not sure, i'd thought about that too so i stick the battery on charge every night.

I just run high beams all the time except at night. I like the idea of having highs on for safety also. Thats what I was told to do in my MSF class also.

Me 2. In MSF class they made a strong case for BOTH ON HIGH as much as possible. Only at night meeting folks do mine go down to low. Then they cannot tell there's 2 so you won't get harrassed by anyone.

I think I will adjust my low beams up & high beams down a bit as well. There really isn't enough light out there IMHO. I wish they were even brighter.
