Ok so I'm doing a the intgrated blinker and am removing all the LP/Blinker black plastic. But the heat shield looks like hell sitting on top of the stock can. What do I need to do to remove it. Is it safe to run with it removed or should I just trim the part that you can see and leave the rest?

I just trimed it with a dremel while it was on the bike. Just got as far in as I could, just dont hit the pipe! Cant even see it now. But if I did it over I would probally just remove it.

I was thinking it would be no big deal to remove it..But it looks like i will have to loosen up the exhaust so i can remove the shield.!!

You will defnetly need to loosen the Exhaust,
so that you can get access to the screws on the side of the can.
I traced on the heatshield so that it would be flushed with the cowl.
I Removed it, cut it, sprayed it black, put it in and it blends perfect.
This way the tail looks fuller underneath it.
However depnding on what you get for an aftermarket exhaust
the can won't be as hot, specially carbon fiber.

I have the CF version of this pipe. It is fantastic. Super loud..sounds like a v-twin when it is at idle.
