What's up yall. I need some help. I just bought a CBR f3 1995 and it's my first bike so I'm a newbie at this but as I was getting to know my bike I was fiddling with a knob next the to fuel supply valve and idiotically twisted it til it came off! Does anyone know what this knob does. Is it important? How do I put it back? Its like a long screw type deal at the end and I dont know what it does!??! help!

Might be the idle speed adjuster knob. Can it be screwed back on? Might have to hold the cable with a needle-nose pliers while you screw it down tight. Then see if it adjusts the idle speed up or down.

Yeah it can be screwed back on.. But where would it go into? Can I... or should I say.. Is it rideable without it? Because I've noticed that after it fell off. the only way it the engine stays running is if the choke is all the way down, otherwise it would stall. Does you know which way to turn the settings? THANKS alot for your HELP man you dont realize how many ppl I asked that ride. Glad I found this forum!

Also, When I give the bike a little throttle it tends to lose RPMs than gain it when engine is really really cold. Does anyone know about this?

That's the idle adjust screw. It screws into the bottom of the carb assembly. I made the mistake of jacking with it when I first got my bike. It's real sensitive, 1/4 of a turn could mean a 500 RPM difference.
Make sure you have enough fuel in the tank and a warm engine when you adjust it.
Idle should be 1200 RPM for this bike. I keep mine at 1400 RPM or so.

So Would you recommend me tighten it all the way and then adjust form there? and is there a hole I can see to place the adjusted back in without taking out additional parts?

If I recall correctly - Screw it all the way in (just to where it seats - don't overdo it), put on the choke then start the bike and let it warm up. Keep the bike at about 3K-4K RPM while turning off the choke. Back out the idle screw 1/4 turn. Now you can ease off the throttle and see where it idles. If the RPM's drop too low you can open the throttle a little to keep the bike running. Back out the screw another 1/4 turn and repeat. When you adjust the idle screw the response will not be immediate - it might take a couple of seconds to respond. Like I said, this worked for me. Mine still idles about 200RPM too high, but it runs good and starts everytime.
Was it running fine before you adjusted it? Are you sure the carbs are clean?

It worked fine before i messed with the darn thing. I don't know for sure if the carbs have been cleaned yet. But I will look into that. It ran perfect. I rode it all the way from portland(where i bought it) to seattle. I just idiotically twisted the adjuster all the way off. I'll try that today, and see what I get.

Ok. Here's the situation. i tried to put it back in but absolutely have NO IDEA where it goes. I believe it goes in between the floats but HONESTLY if ANYONE has a picture of theres and where it goes that would be great. ALSO when you put it in do I have to take out the fuel tank.? PLEASE PLEASE HELP!
