help... rusty water in bike

i went to change the antifreeze out of my bike and nothing but rusty water came out... so i draind the whole system well i hope i got it all out. is there gonna b any problems cuae of the rusty water that was in there? there was alot and it was dark. is there anything i shud do? any advice would be GREAT as im afraid it might have f'd something up but im not sure thanks guys.
 
p.s i used water to drain it out. dont kno if thats what i was supposed to do????

I'm not an expert, but I'd flush it it out really good.  Coolant/anti-freeze has lubricants and anti corrosion additives and I'd guess you had none or it was really old.  If it was me I'd fill it, run it, drain it a few times and keep my fingers crossed.  I'm sure there's probably a laid out procedure out there somewhere....

Yuppo, water to drain it. definately need to crank it over a few times (but not run it for more than a minute so it doesn't get too hot) with just water in it. That will help the flush, then drain it all and do the 50/50 mix

The Cane has an aluminum, copper and brass radiator, magnisium aluminum cases, aluminum head, and I think a aluminum cylinder with a pressed in steel cylinder sleeve.
 
The water pump is magnisium with a plastic impeller and all of the hoses are rubber and the overflow tank is plastic. 
 
So where did the rusty coolant come from?
 
Aluminum oxidizes and it does not corrode like steel, copper and brass tarnish and turn a slimy green.  
 
Could the coolant in your Cane be the GM type of orangish red antifreeze / coolant,  I think its called Dexcool and its red like rust. 
 
I would check the coolant and for sure flush the system.

dont kno what its made out of but OMG was it rusty water i put some in a soda bottle, i dont kno where it came from as i only bought the bike like 7months ago. but ill run it for a few secs then drain it and repeat the process a couple of times thanks guys.
