181 indicated on speedo at the track (Road Atlanta), guessing actual speed was 170 or so.  That's a rush for sure hard to see at that speed, things are happening fast on the track at that speed.

Wow, talk about an oxymoron...

I've hit 157 on my '06 ikrr, but now from hearing everyone that's prob not accurate.  Will a speedohealer make it accurate? is that what that's for?

uhhh.. do i really need to send you a video of the radar gun reading 180mph.  also it isss on flat ground and there was no wind.  also it's a radar which belongs to a maine state trooper and so i'm quite sure it's accurate.  and i can assure you my speedo was reading 186 because i held it there at 186 for over a half mile

With my 95 FZR1000 I did 130mph indicated in Third gear on a long straight empty highway north of Cannon Mountain and still had some left but my helmet was slapping around on my head (1st 75mph, 2nd 95mph, 3rd I figured 135mph topped out).

My new 2004 CBR1000RR 1st gear 85mph topped out 2nd 95mph but in 2nd not topped out. I haven't gotten far past break-in yet so I won't get up my nerve to go faster for awhile. Plus my helmet is just a little too big now that I lost weight (Different helmet by the way).

On a 100% stock 1000RR, 186 on the speedo would be about 172-173 actual speed.  Police radar isn't always super accurate.  GPS is my personal favorite.

Finally gps'ed my stock 04, the speedo was at 186 for a while but the revs kept creeping up, all i've done to this bike is the flapper mod, and the gps reading came to be 181mph. I don't know what the error margin on the gps is, but I was happy with that number.

Interesting...  It would appear that the '04 is geared taller and has a more accurate speedometer than the '06/'07.  Sportrider says top speed is 175, did you have a tailwind?

i have a garmin which agrees with me that my speedo is 6mph off. come on up 2 maine and we'll take a ride up the 95 i'll sit u on the back and u can watch my speedo indicate 186, then we'll wait for a cop to hand me a ticket with 180 written on it

Lots of fighting over here.

I had indicated 185 but afterward I was assured that my speedo was 120mph off and I was actually only doing 65.

Sucks.

168 indicated on speedo is the fastest I have gone... I have read many places that all japanese bike builders agreed to a governed top speed of 186 mph. Not sure if this is 100% true or not though. I have also read that a bone stock 1000rr will do that speed indicated on the speedo during top speed tests. When I hit 168 mph, that was redline rpm in 4th gear. still had 5th and 6th gear.

Dan, your speedo is broken if it says 195.  You should take it in for warranty.  All new Hondas are limited to 300kph, which is 186mph.  Judging by the look of your bike in the picture, I'm gonna go ahead and guess that you haven't done a TRE mod to that.
