Don't do that. Your oil never reaches proper temp and it'll cause your bike to get condensation inside the block. I'm sure if you PM knightslugger he can tell you quite a few reasons.

Top speed run on a 1000RR..........has GPS readout of "actual" speed.
(conversion of speed is 183.92 mph)
WOW!! The bike looked so stable at that speed to....I get nervous as the front wheel gets so light even with me leaning forward on the tank....

I maxed my Busa out on the interstate once. Gauges say 185 then a space and a peg to stop the needle. I had it pegged but most bike gauges are off really bad at high speeds. So I don't know.

High speed is not a badge of pride, it is a mark of stupidity.

I'll admit that I wound my 07 1k up pretty high, looked at the speedo and backed off. Once. The first thing that crossed my mind was that I walked into the dealership, wrote a check and rode off on the bike. No check by the dealer for an endorsement, insurance, etc. I have been dealing with these guys for two decades, so I guess they let me slide. But any kid off the street (more likely with mom and dad's checkbook) can pretty much do the same thing and ride off on a beast of a bike. Later that same day, a kid at a gas station started asking me petty remedial questions while stating that he was trying to decide whether to get a bike or a car. The questions: How fast have you gone? Bet that thing is fast, huh? Can you do wheelies? Gotta say I was flatterred, but I went ahead and told him to get a car....

Last year I rode my bike to an indicated 186 MPH going downhill in 20 degree weather.
I have since geared it -1/+3 and topped out at and indicated 190mph sitting on redline
in 6th gear. I ride very hard and fast, and that was one of the reasons I bought my
motorcycle. If I was worried about dying, wrecking, or scaring the hell out of myself
I would sell it and buy a dirt-bike or a 250 ninja.
Come on guys the thrill of being scared and pushing your limits is probably what keeps
you on a motorcycle. Don't allow you opinions of what is safe, and what is not ruin the
open-minded atmosphere that makes this a great place to visit.

You don't honestly believe you were doing 190 do you?
186mph in 20 degree weather. Wow, you must be the man!!!!

with that gearing change sure the speedo said 190 because the engine was spining faster but the tire was moving slower, you were more likely doing like 165ish? goign bigger on the rear is just going to slw your top end down.

Yeha I understand all of that, I was just stating all of my indicated speeds. I have since bought a speedo-healer. (not installed though) When it is cold and you need to ride, you make do. I will mention however that i looked like the kid on A Christmas Story. (two pairs of gloves, scarf, 5 layers of clothes, but only one pair of jeans....idiot)
