i hate people

me and this kid planned on meeting at a AAA so i could buy his 04 cbr 600rr for 4800. we were going to meet in a hour or 2 and i was on my way home from bank with the cash when he calls me. he says some guy called him and offered him 5000 and he would be there wensday becuase he live 1.5 hours away. so he is not taking my 4800, i was like your going to risk not selling it for 200 bucks. i know the guy is not going to give him 5000 becuase is the picture you cant see the peg broken and the sifter messed up. i did not think it was worth 4800 but becuase i wanted 1 now and they seem to be hard to find around here i did not care. but i am not giving him 5000 for it. i hope when i call him thursday he did not sell it so i can offer him 4600 for it lol. now i go back to looking for a bike

when i was lookin for my bike i checked every section within driving distance everyday about 10 times lol.
i endedup finding mine on ebay, but my friend just got one saturday that he found on CL.
 
i know how you feel there is not much of a selection around my area either, but i wouldnt buy a bike for more than i was willing to pay bc "i want one now"
ur spending alot of money and as many people on here will tell you "the perfect deal could be a day away" so maybe, although this was irritating, you may find a nicer bike for less.

Been there done that, called about an fzr600 last year, made my offer and the dude was like cool, come and get it at 5 pm, so I went to the bank, and he called me and said somebody offered him like 100 more, so I was like, I thought we had a deal, and he was like yeah, but somebody wants to give me more, I was like fine I offered $200 more and it was cool, then half hour later he calls me back and tells me somebody offered him more, right there and then I was like, go ahead and take it then and hung up the phone

Its a double edge sword for those people. On one hand, the extra money is nice. On the other, you gave someone hope and your word. I would like to think that Id stick with the first person interested in the product. Unfortunately though, nothing was in writing so they can do whatever their heart desires. 
 
Definate bummer for you though, I understand where your coming from. Just tell yourself it happened for a reason, everything does. Youll end up with a better bike.

well i have looked up on u haul that they have motorcycle trailers you can rent and i have 2 people in my family with cars that can tow. there is 2 good deals in akron ohio about 110 miles from me. i am thinking maybe i should do this.

that is what i am thinking. so thrusday when i call him and he still has i am going to tell him to meet me at the AAA probley expecting 4800. but i am not giving gim more than 4600 maybe 4500.

he was probley a scammer and was not counting on someone to want to come pick it up.

I would not even call him back. However if you do, tell him the price is now only 4000 for the inconvenience, and you want it delivered, that is you last and final offer or i will go pick up one in Akron tomorrow morning. Play straight hardball for him jerkin you around, and if he dont want to then just let it go.

Tell him you are looking at one somewhere else. Its not like you need it. And if thats got the damage to the bike, who else knows whats wrong with it. Tell hime you are lookin at one for like $4300 so if he wants to do $4100 you'll do it, if not, peace out. I wouldnt buy it from him screwing with you or the damage. Im sure there is plenty more. Craiglist is always a good place. Or search eBay and do within like 25 miles or whatevr and start emailing people.

yeah..ive played this game before..told me someone offered him $500.00 more then what i was going to pay him..what he didnt know is i had 2 other fall back bikes lined up ..when he saw me on a different bike my phone must have rang 7 times..good luck..i would tell him 4,500 or no deal, the worst he could say is no, and then you go to akron and get the other one 

If you're willing to drive to SW MI, I have a good friend from HS who is looking to sell his 04 black and silver with left side damage. He won't do you wrong and won't spin you in circles. Let me know if you're interested. He's dealing b/c he's leaving in August for AF pilot training.


Edit: even if you're not willing to drive, he might be willing to meet half way. I'll put my reputation on him and the bike.
