He overreacted. If she wanted to go to a more secure area, she should have signalled but she definitely was not trying to 'elude' him. He deserved to be fired. That mistake cost the state a LOT of money.

I fully support. Anyone who steps into Harmsway here or abroad . I HAVE THE UP-MOST RESPECT FOR ANYONE WHO DOES THEIR JOB WELL !! But it isn't police bashing. IF it's just the TRUTH. And it looks like he was having more then a bad day its a shame he end his career over something like this I hope he Learn some self control at the end of the day

You know what maybe you should be killed for that comment. Like I said this particular officer over reacted. But put yourself in his place with the same facts I just gave you on your mind. This lady claims she didnt know that the SCHP officer in a marked SCHP car was an "actual officer"? Get the F*ck outta here. So once again put yourself in his place when approaching a car who has been evading you. By the way usually when cars are evading you they are either hiding shit or pullin out there gun.

Tough shoes to be in.  I can see both sides.  I don't but the "I didn't know he was an officer " bit.  Sure he over-reacted, but how long did the stop take?   It's one of those jobs thats just not popular.  No-matter what you do, your under the microscope, and more often than not, it's for the worse.   Officers do allot of great things, but we rarelt hear about them, but when they do something questionable, John Q public jumps their ass.

Maybe the cop is lucky he got fired, if he lets his emotions get ahold of him like this in his line of work. He could get killed.  I fully support the police.  Was she wrong  to not stop for eight miles yes sorta..... we as americans have the right to find a better spot to pull over even if it was eight miles away in her opinion not his might I add.  I am sure she was not driving eratically in order to get away there is a difference, and a right minded cop should be able to tell.  Case in point he needs to be off the street for both our protection and his. 

Exactly. You hit the nail on the head. Like I said he over reacted. Could have calmed down a bit after he found out the person wasnt harmful. But when something "looks, and sounds like a duck" you dont have that time as an officer to lolly gag around and find out. I mean with her running like she did and not getting out of the car like that she put her self in the place of a criminal.

Were Americans we have the right to pull over whenever and where ever we feel is a better spot? Are you nutz? We are Americans does that mean we have the right to shoot someone? Run stop signs? Drink and drive? ETC. No American or not you follow laws. And if you dont you get treated like a criminal

well stated bboi and Shock...frst is probably just pissed because a cop tagged him for no mcy license or insurance, when the rest of us have be legit.  I've already been in an accident with a guy uninsured and I ate a $5000.00 total on my car.  As big of an A-hole as some cops can be, you shouldn't comment until you've walked at least a few feet in their shoes...
 
Try making a comment like that about our military boys, and see how many people on this forum get all over you.

Yea well my pops is a SCHP so I take it to heart when someone talks shit bout them. Specially frstplace1 talking like this video justifies cops getting shot. What kinda mess is that? Like Ive said before yea sometimes they over react but there are plenty of reasons they act the way they sometimes do. Like 94 reasons this year and 142 last year.

and if the cop would have gotten out of the car and walked up nicely, got shot in his face and killed everyone would be saying, he should have been more cautious, its his fault.
 
lady didnt pull over for 8 miles, i would of dragged her out of the car too. sure maybe once he saw she didnt have anything in her hands he should have cooled it a bit, but in a line of work where the people you deal with are more willing to take your life than you are theirs, you have to be on edge.  im willing to bet that case turned racial.

Actually we have old cop cars around here that still look like cop cars with regular citizens driving them.  SPot lights and all...
There was also a guy from my home town that was impersonating a cop in one of these cars with a store bought halloween costume pulling people over and robbing them at gunpoint.

Okay so... When I was 19 I was pulled over for speeding. Im mean really speeding. When I pulled to the side of the road I was like, "Damn this is going to be an expensive ticket." But then I heard the cop over the PA tell me to turn of my engine and drop the keys out of the car. I was like,"HUH? I was just speeding." Then he told me again to follow his instructions. So I did it. Well then he aked me to step out of the vehicle with my hands in the air and my back turned to him. Then he instructed me to walk backward to his voice and to side step to the curb. Well come to find out he thought I was trying to evade him and what not. Which I was not (Im dumb but not that dumb). And after a little discussion with the officer we got everything straight.
The point Im trying to make is that there are multiple ways to deal with situations. That officer in the video could have done what was done to me. And he would still have a job. The risks they take are great. I am aware of that. But that was very extreme on his part.

Just because a cop has a badge does not give him the right to get forceful with the lady.  He could have arrested her, if  he thought it were necessary  in a mater that would have been safer for both of them. And not loosing control as he demonstrated in the vid. Like I said before, cops get support from me.   Generally they only get the problems of society,  but part of thier job is to stay in control of thier emotions.  something he odviously failed at.

I'm not going to say much on this, it was mostly said already. I just think its kinda sad that seems like every other day there is a new bad cop vid or story on this board and the bashing restarts. I know that there are bad apples out there, but for every bad thing that happens one day there has to be at least i dunno, like half a million or so good deeds every day. You think about the population here and how many towns & cities just in the u.s.  alone, and thats a lot of damn good cops and people out there trying there best to help us. I dunno, i guess im just tired of seeing all the bashing, and some of the things "some" people say. Not to mention the way they would  treat the police. I'm done, you may now go back to your "pig" roast.

no im not a cop,My pops on the other hand is an SCHP and that was a response to an idiot sayin it can be justified to shoot and kill a cop. and if you think you have the right to pull over whenever you please try it the next time you see blue lights behind ya. This officer had a marked SCHP car with top lights. come on!

At no point did I say "this video justifies cops getting shot."
I simply implied that actions such as this would give 'one' reason to do so. Wrong or right, it is reason.
