At no point did I say "this video justifies cops getting shot."
I simply implied that actions such as this would give 'one' reason to do so. Wrong or right, it is reason.
Reason, are you crazy? sure it was wrong and im sure very scary for the lady, but cmon. So she gets a few scratches and cuffed and thats "reason" to kill someone? Maybe i'm missing something but thats insane logic in my book.

I have heard several times of weirdos in costumes playing cops, in an old crown vic with some lights they got at aoputo zone, but I'm sure those weirdos would trigger an alarm really quick. If I was a chick and pulled over and things didn't check out or felt weird, I'd keep my doors locked and the window cracked, to try and see whats up, if the guy is legit, but thats an extreme. I immagine a perv would bail at that point, and a real LEO would set it straight. But driving for 8mi? C'mon, every second that a car doesn't pull over has got to be rocketing the LEO's blood pressure, thinking about what they're thinking. I don't think that to many LEO's pull a guy over and think...geez, this guy doesn't look like he'll shoot me.....

Most places you have a half mile to stop once you realize that you are being pulled over...And ater 8 miles you would think that youd look in your mirror to see the blue lights....dumb people with good lawyers sheesh

that cop deserves a medal. that chick coulda had a bomb in her car or something and was just acting innocent. that was the state taking care of its road forcefully. thats the shit they pull in iraq with women and let what happens in britain happen here and the public would be beggin cops like him to stay on. besides, around here i know a cop who 3 weeks ago tazed a 52 yr old women at a traffic stop. either obey or the courtesies are gone lol.

You know what maybe you should be killed for that comment.

Nothing personal.

You know what maybe you should be killed for that comment. Like I said this particular officer over reacted. But put yourself in his place with the same facts I just gave you on your mind. This lady claims she didnt know that the SCHP officer in a marked SCHP car was an "actual officer"? Get the F*ck outta here. So once again put yourself in his place when approaching a car who has been evading you. By the way usually when cars are evading you they are either hiding shit or pullin out there gun.
Actually we have old cop cars around here that still look like cop cars with regular citizens driving them. SPot lights and all...
There was also a guy from my home town that was impersonating a cop in one of these cars with a store bought halloween costume pulling people over and robbing them at gunpoint.
I wouldnt blame her for being cautious
This officer had a marked SCHP car with top lights. come on!
Where in that video do you guys see the lights on the top of the car or that the cop car is marked??? Its a dash cam.
Like Ive said before my pops is an SCHP that and this video old as hell. Its been on about 10 tv shows.

Well, maybe you guys missed it, but she was carrying about ten pounds of crack in her pants...
Anyway, when it comes down to it, he got fired and she won a wheelbarrow full of money, and that is the bottom line...

To protect and serve, Ya right. Got to love the police. Criminals with a badge. That cop had no right want so ever to treat that woman like that, she was no threat, hell if I could see that threw a computer screen, and he couldn't in person then maybe the police need a better eye plan included in their next contract. You keep going on about my Pops a cop, my Pops a cop! Let me ask you this what if that was your moms or sisters what would you say then.

. You kno to tell the truth if it was my mom or sis I would ask them why they were so stupid to have that cop chasin em that long. Thats the honest truth. If they broke the law, they broke the law regardless of who they are. Stupidity has no strings, not even for family

Call it what you want, I still think your veiw on it would be different.
dont ask me something an call me a liar when I tell you my opinion on it. I clearly stated earlier that this particular cop over exagerated and took it alil too far after he had the situation taking care of, but your not in his shoes to say when he thought his safety was not being comprimised. Shit happens like that all the time where in the eand there are shots fired, so he has to make sure his safety is not being jeopardized first.

im kinda with the cop on this one... what took so long? why eight miles? I have already thought about what i would do if i was unsure it was a cop behind me, and it would probably be pull over in the closest well lit, populated area and call the cops myself to make sure my stop was radioed in. eight miles at that low speed must have been 10 to 15 minutes. (it looked like slow speed anyway)

It seems that some here are wringing their hands in joyful exuberance that a cop got fired. I guess it is just a case of getting revenge on a past situation they had encountered. But I, for one, would like to ask those that are happy the cop got fired if during the course of their workday, how many times they get confronted by a drunk/drugged socio-path that would just assume kill you than look at you?
Sure, after the facts came to light, the cop was deemed as over reacting. But if the woman driving had a car full of drugs and weapons available and tried to shoot it out with the officer, would he be judged as over reacting?
Someone said earlier that it was their right to pull over where ever they felt it was save for them to do so. In some cases that may hold merit but I don't normally suscribe to that theory. Police are taught to initiate a vehicle stop at a time and location that is to the officer's benefit, not the violator's. The officer may have thought that the driver of the car was getting rid of evidence, preparing a weapon to use against him or taking him to a predermined location to ambush him. (As a cop, all those scenarios have to be entertained).
The cop in the video should have simply conducted a "Felony Stop" procedure and got the driver back to his car for quesitoning. But, I'm sure he perceived the failure to stop as a threat or a "Scoff-law". His anger interfered with his professionalism...cops are human too.

redloop- please explain to me how you could see that the women posed no threat through the computer screen? Also my family would have more sense and pull to the shoulder quickly.
After a few hundred feet I would think that anyone one behind the wheel of a vehicle failing to stop IS a threat. Here in Florida you DO NOT have the right to find a spot that you like better to pull over in. When I used to work at night in a car I have several women that would take a few blocks to pull over. I think that the longest one was about 12 blocks. The reason for the stop was speed and when I activated my patrol cars light bar she slowed to about 20mph in a posted 45 and put on her emergency flashers. To me this was a dead give away that she wanted to stop in town ( which was where she stopped and was heading to) and that her intention was not to run. I was not totally comfortable with this but I can understand the reasoning behind it and the distance was not that far at all. This still in Florida is illegal and yes she could have been arrested.
I really don't feel that the cop should have been fired for this incident. If the driver would have stopped the incident would not have happened. the officer was dealing with a felon ( for fleeing) and through the short video appeared to be alone during the arrest. To all those that say that even they know better or are again cop bashing have you ever walked a day in my shoes?
The punishment I could see if any should have been training to wait for other officer and conduct a felony stop on the driver instead of approaching.
