They'll catch them and fine the shit out of them or throw them in jail.

Just like the guy that was selling vids of him hualing ass in a Ferrari or something on the highway and swerving between cars in England I think.

I like the song on this one.

Public Roads + 219 MPH top speed run = Proof you don't have to be smart to get rich

If Genius there didn't show his face he'd be in the clear.  Still I don't think they can do anything unless they literally catch him speeding.  I think any half assed lawyer could get him out of that.  He could claim they sped the video up and recalibrated the spedometer to make it look faster than it was really going.  Some guys here in Atlanta got out of running 200+mph around our 63mile perimeter even with the helicopter following them.  Because apparently during the video of them running for a little bit the Helicopter lost visual.  And the claimed that was someone else on the bike that they met randomly at a gas station and they let ride the bike.

Far fetched yes but who's to prove otherwise?

I do believe the United States needs to redo it's speeding laws.  Cars are built way better than they were back in the 60s and 70s.  I think it should be more up to the States to determine speed.  For example in Arizona where you have long desert roads.  A No Limit or high limit of 100mph+ I think would be okay.  The Federal government can set standards of the roads that can qualify that speed on federally funded roadways.  While other roads that are generally 70mph but everyone travels 90mph on anyways in minivans should be 90mph and where someone doing 100-110mph isn't that big of a deal.

Speedy car, but the video is no where as good as th 'Ghostrider' vids.

+1 on Highway speeds being too low, the problem is 'lane discipline' in this country, the cars and roads are good, but many of our drivers have their heads up their asses.

^^ Yep. Germany's Autobahn is strictly enforced for lane speeds. You actually get slapped with a huge ticket for holding up traffic in left lanes. That's why they call it "drive right."......but like Fryer said, every jackass in this country drives in the left lane, blocking cars and causing congestion. Man, I will vote, no matter what party, for the next presidential candidate who acknowledges that America has a huge driving problem and will revamp the entire system.

Problem with that is

1) It'll take more speed than that to make a difference in reaching you distination faster.

2)  You're gonna get shitty shitty gas mileage.   Hell people complain now.

3)  Go fast isnt the problem, its slowing down and also seeing in front and know when and how to slow down to avoid things.    I know 70 and 100mph isnt that much difference to us bike riders, but to regular people they just wont have the depth perception.

4)   Are highways arent the Autobon.   There's too many turns, exits/entrances, etc.

Haha  yeah baby   That is in AZ and the maricopa county Sheriff has put out a bulletin to say " turn this guy in" on the local news.  No shit, no lie.  Guy is probably from SCottsdale AZ where lots of rich people live.

edit:  yep I know that freeway very well... Loop101 in Phoenix.  Best i've done on it is 140mph.. and i wasn't trying for any top speed activity, just trying to cut down the travel time.  Cops are like white on rice on that freeway during the day and evenings.

There is an Indy Car driver that lives in Scottsdale..she owns a silver Lamborghini Gillardo.. is that a Gillardo in the video clip?  She is married.

Only animals that are dumb enough to get on that hwy are coyotes.  We don't have deer, but still smacking a coyote at 200mph would be disastrous.

The hands on the wheel..that car may have paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

lol...no you shift with the paddles just behind the steering wheel (silver things), with a car that can go that fast they dont want people to take their hads off the wheel

1)  Not if you are traveling say 1000 miles on a roadway designed to take people vast distances.  If you travel at 100mph for 10hours you'd be at 1000 miles.  If you travel 70mph for 10 hours you'd be at 700 miles.  Which 300miles is close to the distance of driving from Savannah, GA to Tennessee.

2.  Cars are getting better gas mileage than our bikes now.  People are going to complain if gas was 1cent and jumped up to 2 cents.

3.  On I-285 in Atlanta if you aren't traveling 80mph then you are going to get ran over.  The speed limit is 55mph.  Anyone who has gone through Atlanta probably knows what I am talking about.

4.  Actually the interesting part about turns is the Autobahn I believe has them constantly.  The reason is going in a straight line really fast for a while can put anyone to sleep.  But having gentle turns keeps people alert and that's why they can travel at faster speeds.  The American Interstate system has too many straight on it.  Mainly because it was designed with the intention of providing a landing area for Air Force planes after a Nuclear War.

But one thing we need to do is have a more difficult driving test and better driver education programs like they do in Europe.  I'd hate to say it but motorcycle tests need to be more difficult.  And though I'd never agree to this HP or CC restrictions would probably help out motorcycles.  Because in many Europeon countries they don't let just any jackass go out and get on the road with a CBR1000, R1, etc.  I think you can buy one but you get a restricter plate.  Which is why 125&250cc sport bikes are pretty popular over there.

thats not a Gallardo in the clip, its an LP640, which is a faster version of the Murcielago. and yes, it does have paddle shifters. while the paddles arent as nice as a manual, theyre still not too bad because the car will stay in whatever gear you put it in and not shift by itself.

Yep. It's a "flappy paddle gearbox".......pretty much an automatically shifted manual transmission. (blips the throttle, syncs up next gear, de-clutches, changes gear, re-engages clutch...........all that in a couple hundredths of a second.)

so far it's been said already, but just to be clear there is no automatic for lamborghini just the E-Gear (which is a manual automatic) this car had...it's a $10,000 option!!! or you can get a 6 speed manual

Oh god that stuff is gay. I drove a Jeep Commander with that kinda stuff. Its like "Oh I would like to go down a gear!" and the jeep is like "Oh I'll shift down in about 1 minute" and 5 minutes later, down shift. wtf

I'm sure on a $300,000 exotic they got that stuff worked out a little better than Chrysler.  I wouldn't compare a F1 shifter to a Dodge shifter.

But on the hands not off the wheel.  I remember watching a special on the History Channel(Yes I'm cool) about the Autobahn in Germany.  And how when German engineers would come here to work with American Engineers.  They couldn't grasp why someone would want Cup Holders in a car.  Because to them driving is a two handed sport.

Because for some unknown reason, just about every American doesn't view driving as a sport or activity, they view it as a chore or something they "have to do" rather than want to do. We buy cheap ass cars (the only reason why Ford, Chevy, Chrysler are still in business) and really don't care about refinement. And when people do spend money on a car, they tend to buy full-size 4x4 V8 SUV's to haul their 1 child around to soccer practice and back, then bitch about gas prices.

I laughed at my roommate when he goes "yeah, my truck gets good milage, I can go 450 miles on a single tank."........I always reply with a "yeah, and your truck holds 28 gallons too, do the math." I still have no idea why he bought it. All he does is commute back and forth to work. Oh well, guess I don't understand some peoples reasoning.

YES, I have. I have a very heavy lead foot but I swear to you... They need to put signs up before you get near Atlanta that say "Gentlemen, Start your engines!!", If you're not from here, pull over to get your race endorsement first. Those people HAUL A$$ around there. lol
