If I'm riding alone and I see a couple ridin is it ok to hook up behind them and ride till I hit my exit or is not courteous? I would like to know the "rules of the cycle road".
Ive had peaople come up behind me and do it and ive done it and no one has gotten angry or anything.
thanks

I dont see a problem with it as long as you are not crowding them and invading thier space...but everyone is different

Hey what's up man, I don't see a problem with it at all. As a matter of fact, most of the time I go out of my way to make sure I ride next to or behind someone who is on the road. Safety in numbers, right. Only problem is if you and the other person are both nuts it can turn into an all out light to light race. Which is also fun but dangerous when you don't know their riding habits. Later

I'd pull up on another rider just to see if there's a probability of conversation and picking up some riding buddies. That's how we identify each other. If someone doesn't want you riding with them, trust me, you'll see really quick and hopefully get the message. But at the same time, someone you are looking to join on the road could be looking for someone to ride with and afraid to approach you at the same time. Pick your battles and your rides wisely.
