I know it's been the ROTM for almost three weeks now, but I think this ROTM deserves some enhanced recognition. Pits is a constant contributor to lively discussions on the forum. If that weren't enough, she obviously fricking loves her bike. It's pretty rare to find a member of the fairer gender that is so into this stuff.

Congrats on your bike Pits. It looks sharp.

I'll tell you what, I think it's the rim stripes that really set that bike off. I'm starting to consider them for myself.

When I was shopping for a bike I saw a yamaha R6 in all black with a red rim stipe. I about crapped, I thought that bike looked awesome. But unfortunately it was made by yamaha so i didn't buy it. I'm wondering how i could get a similar look on mine.

Thanks for the link. I think I've heard that somebody makes these in 4 pieces for each wheel so that they're easier to put on. I'm looking for them.

congrats PitsV, not very often does the F4i mop the floor with the RR's but it all comes down to how much time u spend on your bike that makes it all worth it. Very nice bike, and hopefully we will see more F4i's in the running next time.

Thanks all...I do love my bike and I've had it since June and have already about 3K miles on it...

Kiggy check out Rev's page for what the rim tape looks like on a RR.

Me too! Got mine in early June of 2005. I bought from a guy who owned it for 2 mos and put 600 mi on it. I've put almost 3000 on it since. I had to drive from Columbus to Pittsburgh to get it though, and found it on Ebay of all places. I ultimately didn't buy it through the auction, but wouldn't have found it if it not for Ebay.

Anyway, I looked at Rev's rim stripes too. The pictures are a little deceiving, what color are his stripes? Are the red, they almost look reflective. Where'd you get them from? Do they come in different in widths?

I sound like a little kid with all these questions.... by the way, why is the sky blue?

His are red and they are all reflective. I know he bought mine on tapeworks (more expensive) and his were on some other site. I'm telling him to tell you...LOL...I don't know about the widths...wait for his response...

kiggy the rim tape i got for the RR is from here: http://ridesafer.com/store/category/5wm0/Reflective_Accessories.html

compared to tapeworks.com application is a lot more easier...y...well the one i got for my girl has a clear coat peel you take off while trying to apply it around the rim at the same time..mine it doesn't..the quality is good too..pits was harder to put on..ask her yourself she did it...

Thanks for the info Rev and Pits. I'm probably not into the reflective so much, and it seems like the tapeworks brand is a thick stripe, maybe 1/2" or so? I'm liking the pin stripe effect, so I'm trying to find on that's 1/4-3/8".

By the way, Pits seems to know her sh!t when it comes to bikes, and she's doing all these mods herself. Next you're going to tell us that Pits' idea of a perfect evening is to sit home, drink beer, and watch SportsCenter of the Speed Channel. She doesn't happen to have any sisters or cousins in the Columbus, Ohio area does she?

Thanks for the tips. I bought the ones on Ebay for $10 including shipping. I'll post some before and after pics when I put them on.

LOL...Kiggy....the mods are easy...it's my bike and Rev and I actually had to bicker b/c he wanted to be the man and do it....but again it's my bike, so we compromised and did the undertail together, but whatever...Unfortunately there are no sisters for you...LOL...as for the tape it's reflective as a safety...it's not too bad it actually looks cool where your riding.

Thanks to everyone else giving my bike the votes....

I ended up going with a smaller, pin striped, non-reflective tape. Thanks for the recs though, and checking to make sure you didn't have any lost siblings in the 43017 area code. I'll just have to find my biker chick myself.

Keep your options open though....closed minded people end up unhappy!

Oh don't worry, I'm open minded. In fact, my mind is wide open and waiting for a super hot biker chick who isn't afraid to drop the f-bomb now and again.

But there are other types out there too. For example, I went out with a girl last week who over dinner decided to tell me that her two passions in life are unicorns and spirituality. To which I responded "When you say unicorns... that isn't some sort of motorcycle, is it?"

Guess what, a unicorn is just what you'd think it was - A mythical horse with a ****ing horn on its damn head, and she loves them, collects them, covets them.

Suffice it to say it was a short evening out thanks to voice in my head that was screaming "Run! Don't walk, RUN! She 26 years old and she loves UNICORNS!!!!! What a complete f-ing whack job."

Of all things it had to be unicorns. It would have been better if she'd said she was passionate about Ligers.

Anyway, this thread has some how diverged from having anything to do with motorcycles so I'm going to stop now.
