Well, I've been wanting to paint my bike for a while now - just waiting for some decals and the spare cash.  My buddy who paints cars for Carstar is in need of some cash - $150 got me all this...

I bought the Honda decals way back in October when I bought the bike.  I've been waiting for D2M to come back with some samples for my Repsol Race decals that I wanted (go figure, I get home last night and check the mail - I get his package in a sealed USPS clear envelope - got lost and damaged, sorry bro I couldn't wait much longer!) but I got such a good deal on the paint that I had to go ahead with it.  I'm gonna still get them but I'm just gonna have to wait for now.

The biggest surprise was the Yoshi pipe.  The guy I got it from had laid it over lightly on the right and trashed the plastics and the Yoshi pipe.  I repaired the plastics but thought the pipe was just gonna have to be replaced.  Not the case, my buddy knows what he's doing and while I don't have a before on my camera, he does on his - I'll post it when he sends it to me.  You'll flip out.  I had no idea metal could be fixed like this - looks like a brand new pipe!  Well I feel like I have a brand new bike and I just got the decals on this morning.  I love them!  Enough enough already...

The paint code is the new 2007 Dodge Viper color option.

Here's some pics of the day I got it, after I painted it myself, and after the pro job... lemme know what you guys think!

The very day I got it... October 5th 2006

A real close up of the paint...

And the, "new Yoshi Slip-On..."

Now excuse me while I kiss the sky - we're heading out to Kansas City for a day and night out on the town!

Ride safe!

EDIT:  Forgot to add that it's also got the new 98 F3 seat and rear plastics that I got off of Craigslist!

Got the decals off of eBay.  Won the auction for $0.25!  $12 for shipping.  They were F2 decals and I still have the "600F2" as I never planned on using them (if anyone wants them - 2 different fonts of the same thing - lemme know and they're yours - I'll pay the shipping!).

I also forgot to add the pics of my hard hat.  We have to wear hard hats while on poles so I thought I'd use the other tank logos and the CBR logo (still have another CBR in this size as well as a BIG "CBR" in the same font, just much larger - anyone can have those too) on my hat for some bling while working!

Rim tape is next...

Any ideas?  I'm thinking a light charcoal or a dark silver.  The black reflective looks sweet at night but you can't see it in the daytime.

I'm open to suggestions!

paint needs clear bro, then it would be awesome, unless you like the flat look, then more power to ya

It does have clear... it's a satin finish.

Yeah, I dig the flat look - thought you guys would have realized that by now!

I just don't understand peoples fetish with all black. =( I personally liked the color when you first bought it, but you're the rider of it! =)

Looks good but i think rim tape is going to be worthless unless you do a brighter color. Just my 2cents

It's not all black.  It's all subtle.  Haha, yeah, the Vanilla Ice paint scheme wasn't doing it for me.

I just don't like flash man.  Never have, never will.  I would also rather make the bike, "mine," as opposed to something someone else had.  No one has ever had this bike - and that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Triax - well... whaddya think then?  The color I was looking at is fairly bright - you'd be able to see it anyway.  I know what you mean though... I dunno - I'm open to ideas!

Leo - I thought your bike was red?  I like that bike in the pic alot - very nice.  The red accent is sweet but for me I'd rather have something more subtle, haha - can't help it.

I was going to have the Repsol sponsor decals made for the bottom in a charcoal metallic but I guess that's out of the question now.  Then I was thinking why not just white like they are on the Repsol?  Then I thought nah, it'd clash too much with the decals on it now.  So now I'm thinking just plain 'ol black... ?

Thanks for all the replies guys, it really makes me feel good.  I've put a lot of time into this bike to take it from where it was to where it is now.  One thing no one here has seen was the horrible rash on the right side of the bike that jacked up a lot of plastic and that Yoshi pipe.  That's really what initiated the painting to begin with in October.  I don't have any pics, but suffice it to say, the entire right side; upper, lower and tank, was trashed.

Anyway, like I said, I put a lot of time into it and now all over again, I catch myself looking back at the bike as I walk away thinking... damn, I can't believe that's mine!  Haha - thanks guys!

Hey kid, ya my bike is red i just was seeing what ya thought of the charcoal grey bike with the red rim tape.  I pulled that pic off the web.  So what color are you leaning towards on the rim tape?  Bike looks good,  your bud looks to be a good painter.  That pipe looks way better.  I had a 96 f3 with a yosh pipe loved it loud as hell my girl could hear me hit the highway everday on the way to work.  Also what color is your helmet man so if i see ya i know for sure it's you? Here is a pic of my rides.

Sorry for the quality i went across the state to my parents house and this is the best pic i could find here.  The car is a garage queen she hardly ever gets to come out.
