what did u guys use to do this...bubble gum, silly putty etc etc ??

i used a laser pointer and it worked great
what you do is you take off your fairing and screw the slider bolt into place. position the laser pointer so that it shines right in the center of the head of the screw. Make sure the bike and the laser point cannot and will not move! replace the fairings, and if everything went correctly, the laser should be pointing directly where you need to drill your hole.
