If you think the cop is lying then with out a doubt fight it and complain to his/her supervisor. If not then take it like a man.

they got me and three of my friends in a speed trap, they where sitting on a overpass and as we went under it they clocked all four of us going 98 in a 55 about two miles up the rode from the overpass they had officers standing in the road flagging people over for speeding and we stopped (should've took off they couldn't have caught us by the time they got to their cars we would have been 2 miles up the rode) but we stopped and i kind of knew one of the officers, he brings his bike to the shop where i work, i thought he wasn't going to right us a ticket at first but he said his captain was the one running the radar gun on the overpass so he had to, but we all ended up getting 8 hours of driving school (cost 50.00) and court costs (75.00) and it won't go on our driving record.

man... sorry to hear that. so how fast WERE you going?

and how much was the ticket for? also, how easy/difficult was it to install your CW fender kit? just ordered one of those...

in all honesty, oh what am i saying, we all know i was speeding. i know for a fact that i was not going over 60mph. i do plan on taking it to court. the guy was a total a-hole.
as for the CW fender eliminator. piece of cake to install. just a couple of holes to drill.

have u put a speedohealer on your bike? if not than you probably where going that fast, cops are kind of a**holes when your doing 30mph over the limit, your best bet is if you don't have a bad driving record is to ask the judge if you could possibly get driving school, if you got a bunch of speeding tickets on your record it wont matter what you say they are just going to look at your record and say you already have a habit of speeding so thy aren't going to believe you where only doing 60.

i got my ticket without ever getting out of first gear. 50 in a 30. here in florida, we have a ton of lawyers that just love to fight tickets and many of them get the charges dropped. this is the avenue that i took. it cost me $90 to have them take the case and the worst result that i can get is for the charge to be withdrawn, no points on my license and i have to pay the court costs. this is the same result that you get here from taking the traffic school so i figured the ninety bucks was better than sitting in class for four hours. thats four hours i could be working on my next ticket!

i dont have a lot of tickets on my record. i do not have a mortocycle license yet so that obviously is counting against me. i figured i will plead not guilty and go to court. i will have to get my license before i go to court and they should drop that charge.
what is a speadohealer?

a speedohealer is a thing that plugs in between your speedometer sensor and your gauge cluster and it correts your speed cause your speedometer is off from the factory and even worse off if you change your sprockets (more or less teeth), you will definetly need to get your motorycle license before you go to court and more than likely they will dismiss that charge, and i would just beg the judge if i could get driving school. here is a link to the speedohealer.

yep, reckless driving... doing a wheelie in front of a school. Kids thought it was great, cop thought it was stupid. $900.00 after talking to a judge. At least they didn't take my bike.

ok, so i took the written portion of the motorcycle license test. i am going in the morning to take the road test. does anyone know exactly what is involved with that? i know that you have to bring someone with you with another vehicle to drive the officer and follow you, but what do they have you do? drive around the block or what? are you required to use hand signals or can you use the turn signals? some helpful hints would be nice.

wtf... you really have to have someone drive the officer around to watch you ride? Most states don't even have you take a riding portion if you have the MSF course. If you don't have the class, all you have to do is a simple parking lot test. I took my riding test in Ohio to speed up my process (didn't want to wait of the class). You do some of the basic things you learn in the MSF course. Cone weave, panic stop and follow some basic lines. It's simple, but the guy I had was nice and let me re-do a step that should have failed me. I didn't understand his directions for one of the tasks and with all of the other lines on the course, it's easy to get confused.
Good luck.

Yeah the parking lot test is difficult the first time. I failed it my first try but came back a week later with full understanding of what they were going to ask me to do and I got a perfect score.

what state did you get the ticket in??? what i don't understand is how getting the license now will drop the no license part?? n yes, you need someone to ride with you whose HAS a valid motorcycle license. Otherwise you'll have to put ur bike on a truck or trailer. But if you get your license 4 days after you got pulled over, they'll know that you didn't have a license then. Its like insurance. You get into an accident. a day later get insurance and expect them to pay for the damages. It doesnt work that way. maybe its different in ur state, but thats how it works in jersey

Worked for me...got a ticket in kentucky for improperly mounted license plate, no valid permit, no proof of insurance, no proof of license. BUT, if you notice, the endorsement on your license (at least in ohio) doesn't list the date on which you recieved your endorsement. Already had the MSF, so i got my license, took it and my insurance card down to the courthouse, and they dropped both charges. It's the same situation as if you were pulled over in your car and had forgotten your drivers license. You get the ticket, but if you take it in to show that you do have one, they drop it. All your license shows is that you HAVE the endorsement, not when you got it. For all they know, you just left it at home. Dont wait til your court date to deal with the license citation---go down and deal with it ASAP, as the people at the counter will be more lenient and ask fewer questions than the judge.
At least that's how it worked for me in ohio and kentucky.

Don't trip about the ticket. I was doing 125 with my buddy and i came around this corner and i saw this car just sitting on the side of the road. I immediately knew it was a cop so i popped up from tucked position and put on the breaks. After getting in the middle of the road pointing at me and screaming (like i could hear him...) the cop got in his car and followed. He pulled me over and said he got me going 107 in a 60. He didn't give me negligent or reckless cuz i slowed down. I work for ups so i get free legal service so i called up an attorney and he got me out of the ticket. Just get an attorney for a couple hundread then you don't have to worry about the ticket going to your car insurance (and bike insurance if you have it).

Luckily I haven't yet. Knock on wood. 30 MPH over would be a hell of a ticket....

Got nailed here in Wichita Ks, doin 74 in a 40. On the back tire. Got wreckless driving, restricted license (permit), and of course 34 over. Got to court they dropped everything but the wreckless, suspended my license for 90 days, cost me 250 bucks, and had to take a drivers awareness course. Cops suck in Kansas! Taking my driving test here in a week or two, hope it's not too bad!!!!! Heard a TON of horror stories!!!

Where I live, they give you an ear piece so they can talk to you and an orange vest. They follow you in a big ass van and tell you where to turn and such. You have to do a panic stop, a u-turn, and they say they will turn on the hazards and you have to raise your hand so they can see if you are using your mirrors. Basically they want to see if you can keep the bike upright. I haven't taken the test yet, but I'm going to this spring. It can't be too bad, plus I know the guy who works there so hes pretty easy on my LOL.
