Here's my License Plate Flipper, it actually works awesome, flips down fast, and flips up fast, microswitches stop the motor once the plate is up or down, uses a regulated 5v (LM7805 not shown) Which I have mounted on a small PCB and goes with the bikes wireharness, I know its not the prettyest looking (lots of unnessary holes) but what do you guys think...

Pretty slick contraption.
I wonder if there will be a "special" message when the plates flipped up.

Got it installed, it works perfect!, Even held up doing wheelies and Stoppies all day!
Its dark right now, but I will get some vids of it in action tomorrow for you guys

I was actually trying to think of a cool message to put under the plate, so when it flips down you can read it.... kind of to double as a retaliatory remark I can send to a$$hole drivers, lol

How much did it cost you to make including time etc vs the $150 you could have bought 1 for...

care to share schematics? looks good and i want one to build myself but havent had the time to draw a diagram.
Err

i use loosely fastened zipties. anything faster than 10mph and the plate is flapping in the wind!

Sure I'll share the schematics and the plans on how to build it, you can throw it together for about 30 bucks, much cheaper than 150.
I have a new one I am building that is a gearbox reduced Chain Drive, to kind of slow it down a little, right now is flips up and down so fast it bounces off the stoppers a little bit, so I want to reduce the bounce. And the chain drive will hold up much better over time. its not raining today, so I'll post up a vid of it working in about an hour

Well I did a redesign, now I've got a small gearbox with a chain drive, and spring chain tensioners, the chain drive pulls the plate up or down. should last for a long time, been doing stoppies and wheelies pretty consistantly with it. I ordered some metal working tools (brake/sheer/punch) to make the process of building and fabricating a little easier, lol. I'll probably make a few more just cause their fun to build, and throw them on ebay to anyone who wants one, I'll post a pic of the new chain drive soon, sorry I didnt get a vid up, my DVD cam battery was dead, and I have been too lazy too look for the charger, lol

I would like to make one, so any help would be cool, I didn't see any instructions. Hey if you are really interested in making another one just for the fun I would love one and would pay for all the stuff (plus I would probably mail you some of the supplies, like carbon fiber (I work at a carbon fiber manufacture) instead of metal.)
