New CBR 1000RR What's the DEAL!

Need some help guys. Just got my Fireblade new three weeks ago and having trouble modulating throttle out of first. I've been on sport bikes for years now but first FI and hydrolic clutch bike. Seems like I'm taking off in second when I take off from a stop. I've heard my bike comes from the factory with a fairly tall final gear ratio but GEEZ! I still stall out taking off from red lights every once in awhile.(HOW EMBARRASSING IS THAT!!!) Now I claim to be able to ride descent, better than some not as good as some local stunters but come on this bike is absolutely perfect except for this annoying problem. Anything to relieve this problem? Tried the infamous flapper mod and it eased it a bit but had to go back for my 600 mile break-in oil change and service so I reinstalled my hose and decided to leave it on since it did't ease the situation by much. Anybody got any suggestions let me know please. THANKS

Sounds like practising clutch control to me, never had the problem as you describe it but the clutch is a pretty stiff one i think.

Just give it more gas. The 1kRR has the smoothest hydraulic clutch and FI that I've ridden (I've heard the R1 has better FI). But you do have to punch it in the ass at a stop sign to get it going.

O and the stock fuelling runs rich so it`ll bog a bit like chains just said, mine used to want to stall at lights if it got hot 100 (Degrees C)
I forgot about that,
RS5 + PC3 N map Fixed it for me.

Thanks guys. I think it's a combination of not being use to FI and that hydro clutch but had plenty of practice so far to get use to it . It just has a hellova bog at first. Makes me feel like I'm riding the clutch too much in take off. And in traffic you can't exactly punch it to get going

Try turning your idle up a little if you are still having problems. Crank it to 2k - 2.5k Idle Rpm. That'll help out when gettin goin from a stop in 1st.

Thanks guys. wondering if it's because of the high stock gearing some too. If so what's a good sprocket to get her to wheelie pretty good in first and second and still get up there in top speed? I want to keep her streetable and only change one sprocket if possible, could I do that and get the results I'm looking for? You guys rock. She seems to be getting better by the way but still pretty annoying when you always think you're taking off in second, and when she gets hot geez! You can forget taking off like you know what you're doing. What's the advice on the sprocket size guys?

By the wat Riptor I'll definitely try giving my idle knob a turn and seeing if she likes it or not. Thanks for the help!!!

Thanks for all the help guys! Gave my idle knob a turn after full warm up and that was it. That's what I get for thinking my local dealer knows how to ready a bike before selling. Should have figured as much after my top bolts on both rearsets mysteriously came up missing. Only noticed after clutch rearset came down on me and heel guard totally ****ed my swingarm to **** and back. THEN my top left mirror mounting bolt came up missing. Scared of what falls off next but went through and made sure all main bolts and screws were tight and Mr. Honda is buying me a new swingarm since mine is scratched beyond belief. Thanks guys. Can't believe it was something that simple though.

good deal on Mr. Honda buying the new swingarm.... will he also install it too?

Mine feels smoother than any bike I've owned to date. I will agree, when it is hot, sometimes it feels like it is going to stall off the line.
As far as the idle goes, 2k-2.5krpm is excessive. The manual recommends between 1000 & 1200 rpm (if memory serves me correctly).

I believe its 1250 for idle, but a little extra won`t hurt, racers advance there idle too. Different reason altogether though.

If you're stuck in a situation that causes your 1kRR to run hot and it starts hesitating and acting goofy here's what to do. Rev the living piss outta it about 3 times. Let it go back to idle and it'll run fine. I don't know why this works but it does. I stumbled across this solution only because I was pissed 1) because I was stuck in traffic and it was a zillion degrees and 2) because the bike was acting goofy and stumbling . So when it started to choke out as I began to go I pulled in the clutch and gave it a couple big revs and I'll be damned if it didn't run perfect.

I found that out to for the same reason, going through traffic when you get light after light thats on red, and you start cooking. Weird but it works doesn`t it.

Maybe spooling the motor up like that makes the water pump spin faster, in turn pushing more coolant through the block.

Doncollins- Yeah, Mr. Honda is sending a new swingarm to my local dealer cuz we sent pic.s of where the heelguard swiveled downed and f'ed my swingarm in the A. They are also going to pay to have it replaced because those bolts are suppose to be secured by the factory before dealer receives the bike. Good news guys! Set my idle at 1500 rpm's, did the old Flapper mod, and took the ten feet of wrapped mesh from around my stock filters and SHE LYKES! 15 tooth sprocket coming in this week for the front. Can't wait! And I too have learned the whole rev two or three times before taking off when she's hot and for some odd reason it helps, though I think it's all in our minds but whatever works huh! Later guys.
