So I was looking at some of the new bikes for 2006 and I noticed the new Yamaha R6 and the GSXR ( I know I know its not a CBR and this is a CBR forum Blaaa Blaaa Blaaa)anyways the new exhaust on the R6 is a short little thing that just doesnt look right to me. I know that times are changing but this is one change that I do not like personally. I also noticed that other aftermarket exhaust companies are doing the same? Whats up? has anyone heard these new stumpy little things? What do you think? Here are a couple of pics in case you havent seen what I am talking about.

I agree.... WTF is up with that design. I know it looks like some of the exhausts on the GP bikes, but I do not like either. Undertail has won me over.....

It's probably weight saving, but it looks retarded. I'd replace that with a real exhaust in a heartbeat. Undertail rules!

The design reason aswell as the fashion is because it brings the exhaust closer to the bikes centre of gravity which is good for handling, the new R6 looks better in the flesh almost missable but the main thing i love about underseat exhausts in the way they make cleaning a doddle, nothing to rag your knuckles on when your cleaning your swingarm.

It seems that the smell from the exhault might come up at you while you're riding.

The exhaust gases don`t stick to leather that well...... Hint,Hint

Although they are heavier, I do prefer the look of an undertail exhaust. Knife_edge, how would the smell of the exhuast come up at you while you were moving?
