Thought my bike broke down, towed it home the next day found out it was just the killswitch.
Thought my kickstand was down and dropped my bike right in the middle of a crowded parking lot. Everyone got a good laugh at my expense.
+1 on the blinker and the helmet strap.
Oh yah! When I bought my first bike we were towing it home on a dirtbike trailor and as you well know streetbike tires are much fatter than dirtbike tires. Well half way home on the freeway the bike took a spill on the trailor and got pretty messed up. That was embarassing and scary. The bike was so close to comming off the trailor.

My wife had a good one that I just have to share. She just got her 03 Ninja and couldn't wait for me teach her how to ride (just one day). She had the bike parked in the garage with her 03 Ford Mustang parked in front of the garage. Figure this one out yet? She put the bike in gear, lost control and rammed her bike into the mustang.

the kick stand got me good. i got my bike before i could ride it, talked the guy into driving it to my house. A few days later went out to sit on it and warm it up. The bike kept stalling, so I callled the guy and told him it was a peice of crap thant wont stay running. then came in to the house and read about the kick stand. I felt really really stupid.

1.) hitting the horn every time I turn on the turn siginals
2.) trying to take off at a light in 3rd or 4th gear and wondering why its stalling
3.) getting gas and then trying to leave with kickstand down, ends of stalling of course
4.) unlocking the truck for some reason and then a few minutes later start looking for the key/s. Then after 5 minutes either rememeber the trunk or have someone point it out to you.
5.) Trying to find the 7th gear
6.) Wave to a fellow rider passing by while at a light in first gear, of course the bike dies

Here's one for 'ya...
Back in '92 I worked part time during the summer for the local Honda dealer selling bikes. I delivered a brand new 600F2 to a customers house...rolled it off the truck, started it up for him...showed him all of the basics...he gets on, pops the clutch and rides a wheelie into the back of his parked Cadillac. Almost 2k worth of damage to the bike alone. Don't know how much the new trunk lid/bumper cost on the Caddie. I know it's not funny, but i had to laugh...once I got in the truck and drove away. The guy said he had ridden bikes for a long time...NOT!

I ran wide on a left hand bend on my first bike, totally Sh*t myself and came close to the oncoming traffic.

I stalled pulling out of the dealer lot. I also stalled in between two lanes at a red light. I stalled about 5 more times in the next two weeks at red lights. Luckilly, I don't stall anymore and I have made the switch from dirtbike take offs to street bike. I also almost freaked out in a parking lot when my 06 cbr wouldn't turn over. I knew it was in gear so I was holding in the clutch, after I pressed the button about 10 times I realized the kickstand was down.
Plus 1 on the blinker and I would constantly honk the horn embarrassing my noob self before my gloves were broken in and my thumb could move a little more freely.

I hit the throttle alot harder on a yz 125 than on my cbr. The main thing was the difference in the clutch and me being nervous and trying to take it easy.

the first time i rode, i was on a crf not a cbr about 5 yrs ago when i was only 14/15. the first time and the last time i attempted to jump a dirtbike, not untill i came short 4 feet on the landing(7 foot lip) and ate it hard did i say to myself that dirtbike jumping wasnt for me. and oh ya many many people were watching.
on the cbr though the only time i can say i was embarrased was when the first time i rode my bike i told my friend that it was broken because it kept cutting when i put the kickstand up(in gear ofcourse), i felt like a douche bag when he said to me that the kickstand needs to be up when its in gear...

oddly enough just the other day after reading anubis warning another member not to downshift to early cause it can make the back end squirly, What do i do i am out and coming to a turn and it is usually so fluent and second nature to down shift and blip a little to catch the rpms with the engine. Of course this one time i don't it start rocking back and forth but i cuaght it no problem and kept riding but i will admit it got the ol' heart pumping pretty good.
Oh an just the other night leaving from the girls house around 2a.m i am rolling out of her garage(rich neighbor hood asshole nieghbors) with teh clutch in i go to hit the start adn take off and for some wierd reason i hit the horn and kinda held it(as long as you would the elec start)....I then immediately hit the start button and took off like mad.
I can't wait till i leave her neighborhood at 1 in the morning with those Twin D&D's straped on the back

I pulled into a parking lot went to get off the bike leaning to left and my shoe lace got caught on the shifter. DOH!!! Right in front of the ice cream shop. Feeling like a dweeb and then someone asks if your all right? Yeah just a bruised ego.

Blinker left on and hitting the horn on accident are an all the time occurrence. One of my most memorable was I dumped my bike (luckily no one was around) and I picked it up and tried starting but it wouldn't start. After about 2-3 minutes I realized I had to turn my bike off to reset the bank angle sensor. DOH!!!

I frequently forget to cancel my turn signal. Sometimes, I accidently get the horn too. The first day I had my bike it fell over in my garage but was caught by a table. Luckily, I just had some scratches on my fairings that buffed out.

this happened friday night (11pm). on the freeway and the bike start sputtering, then stalled. pulled over, cars wizzing by and no start. kinda freaked out and after 10 minutes of wondering WTF and calling my friend for help, i flipped the reserve on and it started after a couple tries. now i know to pay attention to the trip and reset it after every fill-up.
+1 on the blinker
+1 on the horn
