I've got a few questions about upgrading my sprockets and chain... What's the difference between o-ring and x-ring chains? And are Vortex sprockets any good? If not, what's a good brand for sprockets and chain? Thanks for any help...

The actual rubber ring on O-Ring chains are round in shape if you cross section them. X-Ring chains are X Shaped when cross sectioned. X ring chains have better flexed sealing properties than o-ring chains, so they perfom better.
When it comes to sprockets, it's hard to give suggestions when the end result isn't specified. if you're going for weight savings, aluminum is the way to go, however, they don't last long depending on how hard you ride the bike. if longevity is what you're after, steel is the only way to go, but they can get heavy. if it's stylings, well, no one can help you with that as individual taste differes from one person to the next.
personally, i prefer AFAM or Sprocket Specialists.

You'll also find that you can get a stronger chain in X ring than O ring, or atleast that was the case when I got my last chain. Even though it was for my dirt bike.
Look at the ratings for the brand you are looking into.
