Hi all,

Greetings from a new rider of a 954 'blade.

I'm in Melbourne Australia, and we have a heap of good twisties to ride on Sundays. On the 'blade I've been having a ball.

Bought it second hand but young and did some reverse engineering...

1. Took off the Micron can and replaced the original. I like the low end torque and don't like noise.
2. Put the 'shovel' back on the rear ... don't fancy the brown stripe up my back in bad weather
3. Put back the standard pillion seat in place of the cowl so I can mount a tail pack.

Weird huh?

I've added frame protectors, a Ventura rack and a Givi topbox. (She has to commute too.). Had her up to 185 kph with the topbox and she was rock solid. That's my kind of commuting ;-}

Thanks guys.

Just back from a club ride ... 4 days and 2000km through some of our best mountain roads. I'm starting to get the hang of the 'blade. A sweet ride.

Welcome rsser. I've searched for decent hard luggage for my five four and couldn't find anything decent and easy to install. Do you have hard side luggage as well or just the givi top box? either way I wouldn't mind seeing pix either. tx

Will post some pics when I get some time folks.

Kewl, the Ventura rack is cheap but a bit of a pig to fit to the 954. Allow around 2.5 hours. Then you cut off the rack top loop and plug with end caps. That gives you the platform to fit a Givi topbox with its standard universal mounting plate.

The high pipe makes hard side bags hard to fit; you could consider sport throw overs. I haven't tried anything on the sides since having migrated from a sport tourer I've settled for the minimum ... the topbox and a MotoDry roll pack on the pillion. Together they give a nominal 80 litres and they're light and narrow (but not low - can't have everything!).

One pic of rack and topbox and another with roll pack (without undertail strap fitted).

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Ern
