I have an 04 600 RR and i finally said hell with the warranty,i want to go fast.my first move i want to try before i get into tearing the motor all apart is just trying to do down 1 tooth in the front.how much of a difference in acceleration will it make? i dont want to loose a whole lot of top end, maybe around the 135 range but want to get there fast is what im looking for. Also the back sprocket, how many teeth would you suggest going up?well if anyone has an answer to this please let me know.
If you go -1 on the front your bike wont have any troubles getting to 135. Before going up on the back try it with a -1 on the front you wont need a new chain and will certainly notice the difference in acceleration

you say 135? mine is doing 165 on the clock standard...
1 down on the front is really all you'll need if your racing track, if you want more power gains go for the full arrow or akrapovic system with a power commander..
how often do you get to do top tilt? oh and 1 down on the front makes it easier to wheely

Where did you find the sprocket at for $25? I'm looking and all I find will be around $40 shipped.
coops with -1 on the front your speedo may still read 165 but you will be going alot slower than that. About 140ish

I went -1 down in the front with Renthal and it makes a huge difference for the money its worth it. 2nd gear wheelie is much easier and 1st comes up with the crack of the wrist.

I would love to go down 1 in the front...but what is the stock tooth count? 13 or 14?

might be around 150ish. generally out of the factory the bikes are geared 10% optimistic

But when you go -1 on the front it puts it out even more so its more like 15 or 20%.
