Just wanted to share some pictures of a mod I did last weekend.
I wanted to change the colors of my 061kRR from black/silver to black/red. I took off the seat cowl and the rear plastics and used a Dremel to grind off the rivets and then painted the mesh with some spray paint and then clear coated it. I used a rivet gun to reattach the mesh to the plastic and then decided to install some 3 light LED strips behind the rear plastic mesh.
It's nothing too exciting but it was my first mod to this bike and I had a lot of fun doing it.
Enjoy!

hwells,
Not sure who sells it; it was the one non-stock part on the bike when I got it a few weeks ago. I've seen ones like it on eBay though.
If you do decide to get one and do what I did make sure when you take the rivets off you don't get the plastic too hot so that it melts around the rivets, I almost had a big problem!

Looks pretty good, and I like the seat cowl. For future reference, the best way to remove rivets is by drilling them out.

why drill out the rivets? wouldnt it be just as easy to tape off the area around the mesh the spray it?

I thought about doing that but it would have painted the black plastic behind the mesh as well and I did not want that.

Nice. I think that cowl is the factory one. Where did you get the LED's? Did you tap into the
license plate light power?
