hey all I gotta 05RR and im still kinda new so I dont know what to expect really, but I understand the ride will be slightly more sluggish when having a passenger but how often do you guys ride with one???? I am about 210 and she is about 130. Just curious cuz I want to put her on more but I dont really trust being that heavy on a 600 ya know. am I trippin or what. LOL

Make sure you know what your doing before you put someone else on there. The bike reacts totally different and its a lot more difficult to manuver the bike with the extra weight. Also, make sure she knows what she is doing. I used to ride with one all the time, it takes getting used to, but then I got her her own bike, so, I still do it, but not as often.

yeah, I found that out lol.. I had to teach her how to be a passenger, I try to be as safe as possible always!!! But my main question is how good for the bike is it.

More than likely you will not own the bike long enough for it to matter but riding with a passenger makes the engine and suspension work a little harder and will probably increase wear. This wear will be so slightly more than not riding a passenger that it would take a lot of miles to matter.
On the upside, you can use it as an excuse to buy a new bike in a few years.

who cares if it's good on the bike or not, you just won a free trip into her pants.

lmao, my fault, i'm relating it to my situation i guess. i don't think there will be any real stress on anything but maybe your clutch since you'll have to slip it a bit in 1st gear. but other than that i think the bike is very capable of handling a passenger withuot any real harm.

Adjust your rear reload for the extra weight. If you plan on having her on a lot, then you might wanna adjust all your suspension settings for the extra weight, but do the preload first.

Slip, you are right, women love crotch rockets. In both senses : )
Yeah, the only problem I had starting out with a passenger is the 1st gear slipping. My buddy has a Ninja 500 and he rides his girl all of the time without a problem, you'll be fine with your rr.

YOur gear should not be slipping in FREAKING first you need a new clutch or clutch spring bro. I ride my wife about a fith of the time. Its only realy noticable in lower rpms. Higher rpms anything above 4 or 5 grand you wont notice much. Also before you even let her on make up some sygnals. I tap my wifes hands and she knows that means hold on for dear life cause Im about to gun it. Other than that just work on her leaning with you. A good way to do this is for you to scoot your but back a little and lean foward a little more than usual this will encourage her to look over your head and not try to lean around you to see where your both going lol. Time in the saddle is the biggest thing give her plenty of time. Do not push on her or act like your trying to wiggle away from her this wiiilllllllll pisss her off and confuse her. My buddy does this trust me it don't work. If you have to pull over TAKE OFF you helmet then demostrate what you need from her and be nice. Make sure you tell her this is for both of your safety. Finish every thought with I am just trying to keep us safe woman like this. They allready think this is living on the wild side so being safe is not a turn off to them. In fact its a turn on Now mr bad ass biker is looking out for her yup you got it just remember talk with helmets off so your not being loude she will learn much faster and want more.

Ps I forgot one thing, get her to take off all rings, show her where to put her hands on the back of the gas tank as soon as she feels you using the brakes at all and tell her to put them there when she thinks your about to stop and what-not this helps make them feel like they are helping ride.

She should be wearing gloves, so I would assume rings would be a non-issue, right?

Why do i get the silly questions. Well... if she has a larg center stone bridal set like my wife does then yea rings are a problem cause they can cut the gloves either way rings are bad for gear and bikes paint. If this isn't his wife then most liklely this girl won't all ready have a jacket let alone a pair of gloves. I wonder who this realy is hmm? I allways thought it was funny how people make up new names on board's like these.
