You guys with a PCIII on your F4i: Did you notice any smoothing of the response at low and mid range?

In other words did you feel that the PCIII made the response to throttle inputs more linear or predictable?

Thanks!

i would have to say that mine did seem to smooth out the entire powerband through all gears, but to be up front i also did other mods (air filter and sprocket) at the same time, i would probably still spend the money though if i were to do it over.

The PCIII alone won't do anything. It simply allows you to adjust and run modified fuel maps. So what is gonna make the difference in response and power, is the particular map you are running.

I think it smoothed mine out. I had just my slip-on and a k&n on and it seemed like it would cough and hesitate sometimes at low rpms, especially when I was leaving a stoplight. After I installed the PCIII and loaded the map for my stuff that I had on my bike, it stopped hesitating like it used to. Is your bike all stock or do you have a slip-on and/or exhaust?

Currently a box stock 2003 F4i.

A slip-on is in the future but probably not this season.

I think it smoothed it out. I gave me some power too. Now it throttles up in second and clutches in third

For a stock bike it probably wouldn't be something you could justify spending the money on, but I think if you added and air filter and a slip-on you would be better off having one. I know I love mine and I still haven't even played around with it too much.

DThompson, you're throttling up in second? Is that sit-down or stand-up? Did you get new sprockets or are they stock? I can clutch mine up in second sit-down and stand-up but I haven't tried to get it up in third yet.

2nd is sit down,
I have a +2 in back and -1 in front for the sprockets. I have only done it three times though and they were all accidents, i was just picking up speed very aggresively.

The third gear is all stand up. I put my left foot on the rear peg plus I have to clutch it up. It comes up slow.
I dont really like the third gear though because I dont like the idea of not being sucurely attached to the bike when im standing up and clutching it also.

Oh ok, just checking...I thought there was something wrong with what I was doing!
