My 05 was woefully neglected by its previous owner.

I always plan a paint job in photoshop before anything happens in reality. I'm not a very fancy guy and prefer pretty plain graphics. Here is what I'm doing to freshen it up this winter. Matt black in case you cant tell.

I am not a fan of gold, but that is one clean looking design. I think you should go with it!

Post some pics of the final product- once your done with it, of course

Flat black is the way to go

Although, i suggest painting the wheels chrome-silver, not gold.  I was thinking gold for mine, but am much happier with the silver.

Nice.

Just curious but is Photobucket something you have to purchase or is it a download.  Becuase I found something but it was I think it was $650.  Which screw that I'll use Paint before that.

photobucket? you mean photoshop? It depends you can purchase or download it, all comes down to morals. Normally you would have to purchase it, and yes its very expensive.

Photoshop is an Adobe product and is 650ish. It also requires a sizable investment of your time to gain minimal skills. There are some pretty good tutorial podcasts on photoshop.

Another great way to prototype a paint job or modification is mutilating those cheap little models you can find at Walmart. They are only about $6.00 each. This method allows you to see everything in 3d.

Every bike I've owned for the last 10 years has been black. Maybe I should change that up?

I was talking to a buddy of mine about designing a paint scheme for my bike since he does paint well.  And then we got to talking about his old motorcycle which was a 1992 CBR600 F2.  He had it back in 1996 and to me that bike was bad (With me being 12-13).  And the 1996 CBR600 F3 was the big dog back then.  Now I have it(11years later).

But what we got talking about is doing a Factory design except we'd use different colors.  That way you look like a factory bike exepct you got the only one.

My idea is going to be this paint scheme from a 1992 CBR600 F2 just like my buddy's bike.

Except instead of Red and White I'm probably going to do a Gun metal grey to replace the red and leave the stripes white.  Or make the stripes black.  Or possibly another color combination.  And a the same time put the CBR600 F2(F3 for me) part in the styling of a newer F4 or even an 08 600rr.  Something that sticks out a little and not a lot.

Here is how my bike looked when I got it.  Yes that is Rattle can paint on it...

Here is how my bike looks as of now after some sanding...

I'm digging the white.  But I think I like the Black better if the rims were say a darker shade.  I wouldn't do flat black either.  I'd have the windscreen smoke(Light tint).

Not sure about the tranny cover.  And my question about that is would that get hot and chip the paint?  Maybe a powder coat or I'd hate to say it but possibly a Carbon Fiber cover?

Just throwin ideas out.

As for the Carolina Cycle Center.  Do you plan to put that on there?  If so I'd make it a little more bold.  Almost like a racing sponsor and possibly across the bottom or up the fairing.

My bike is an 05 and the image Im using in planning the paint job is an o4 which I stuck an 07 front end on.

This is going to be a track only bike with aftermarket bodywork. You really don't want a tinted shield on a track bike. I think dark screens make a bike look taller, and anyway, you do not see through them as well in a tuck,. Especially with a tinted hlemet visor.

As to the mat finish, track riders look for the edge and sometimes find it. Body work gets rashed. Mat is easier to match after a fiberglass repair.

I'll post another image to show you why my company logo is the size it is later today.

The gold is because the magnesium rims Im scavanging from another project are gold already.
and the case covers on an 05 are kinda gold from the factory

I'm liking the black better, but the white would be nice for somebody with a street bike.

Heres a large logo. The fairing's slots's make the graphics kinda wonky.

I'm digging the large HONDA at the bottoma nd the CBR on back.  The wings on tank I think could be a little bit bigger.

As for the Logo.  With it being a track bike will those slots be gone?  If so then the large Logo for sure.  If not then maybe the smaller logo.

I agree the white for the street woudl be nice.

Or you can chrome your entire bike and blind your opponents.

Brother go black!  That looks great.  Not a big fan of paint style changes on bikes, but very nice.  Bikes are radical enough without the graphic bs, that looks cool.  Shoot it.
