well...it finally happend...heres the story:

it was a beautiful day....checked the weather and it was supposed to rain in the day but never did..it was nice and sunny and hot...so i figured sweet...ill go out w/ my friends to the weekly car show. So we get there and its boring so at about 10:30 tonight we leave to go meet a friend at his car paint shop and BAM its starts pouring, it was coming down so hard i waived to my friend in front of me and one behind to pull over..then i realized we were about to be at the shop so it all good.

So as we see the turn, thers a HUGE puddle already on the side of the 3 lane main road and my friend in front hits it and hydroplanes so im like SHIT and im bout to go around him but theres cars in the middle lane...so i try to slow down...wrong idea...my back end swerves...and go sidewaysand lay it down and jump off right before we hit the back of his car...i see my bike hit his bumper and i go right past his tire sliding about 50 feet down the road. Thank god it was wet so i didnt get beat up tooo bad..but i have scratches and bruises and my back and shoulders are killing me. So im laying there, and its still pouring and all my friends jump out and get e on the sidewalk..and tons of cars are just creeping by looking with there mouths dropped.

So finally i get up...get the bike back up and see the crank case its broken up and oil is everywhere...my shifter is broken off...but thank good for frame sliders the farring is ok...but the front farring is cracked and out of place. SO i need new crank cover..front farring..and shifter assembly. Well it happend two hous ago and just got home so i wrote this after i had my truck come and we towed it back on the bed..and now im just killing myself cuz I need to fix it all, and im broke right now SO if anyone has any of these parts let me know, i need em. Thanks for letting me vent guys.

The main thing is that you are ok. The bike/parts can always be replaced.

Still sorry it happend. Good luck in getting her fixed and back on the road soon.

I hate to hear shit like that Ditto what Deimos wrote: the bike is replaceable -- you ain't. Glad you came out of it with relatively minor injuries. I'm outta here in a few to go chase fish with my little girl but when I get back I'll try to track ya down some parts.

Sorry to hear about your accident. As everyone has said, bike parts can be replaced. You can't. It sounds like you can through ok for the most part. Did you have gear on and if so, how bad was the gear damaged?

Neon- Since im Fairly new to bikes, im not Positive about how i would check if the that gear is alright, but the part that broke off was the Main Step Holder, thats it, the pedal and all are still good, any suggestions as to what exactly i should be looking for? Thanks

PICS OF CRASH AFTERMATH

Hey dude -- hope you're feeling better. Some crashes it takes a couple days before the soreness really gets to ya -- don't ask how I know.

Looked at the pics and it doesn't look too bad. Mainly just left side damage. I think all you need for the shifter is the pedal assembly. If you find someone parting one out you might could get it cheap. The one on bikebandit is $75 for the shifter and the bracket runs $38

It looks like your alternator cover is cracked but I can't tell from the pics. Is it the left side cover? That's an $80 part but you might can find one on E-bay or an aftermarket cover.

I would suggest just being patient until you find some decent plastics to replace the scratched pieces -- those are outrageously expensive unless you can find somebody parting out a bike. Ya might want to take the front end apart and make sure there's no unseen damage to the forks/triple tree. While it's off you might can rig up a way to make it sit straight.

Here's a front plastic -- told ya they were expensive e-bay plastic

Dude, I got my stock foot peg and bracket -- been looking at the 954 bracket and they look very similar. Only difference I can tell is that the 954 has an extra piece that the foot peg mounts to -- the 1000 has the peg mounted directly to the bracket. Hole center on mine is 2 5/16"

hey thanks so much Chain, and yea i was on BikeBandit looking at all the parts, you def. seem right about the plastics and all. I also need to get the Stay that is under the upper fairing. Sorry for my delay in response, i have spent the last 30 hours at a paint shop with 3 friends preping, sanding and on and on and finally painting his turbo gsr. How much for that bracket? and do you think ti will work out?

Dude the bracket is free if ya can use it. Measure the mounting holes and make sure the center distance is 2 5/16" . All I ask is if it'll work on your bike you pay shipping.

Sorry about your tough luck and I am glad that you came out with only minor ordeals. Anyways, keep chucking at it. I would at least get the essential parts that you need. You can always fix your plastic as long as its not to to bad without buying a new one. (unless your wanting a new flawless piece). But get your shifter first, then worry about the plastics. Good Luck!!
