OK...my ACE hurts after 2 hours of steady riding on the RR.....I have heard Corbin makes a nice seat, any others out there I should look at for the back side???

I found the best cure is MORE seat time.

12K miles on an 06 would qualify as seat time I would say......that cheap foam cushion that they call a seat is a SHO!

i agree with oldfatguy.......got to build up the calus's on the ass...lol

i have an 05 bought when the 06's came out with 13,500 on it.....just got back from the outer banks of NC which is a little over a 5 hr ride one way from where i live in nc....we stopped twice just for gas on the way down/back, taking a leak at one of the stops....we did 945 miles in 2 days.....just had a little leg fatigue.....its all about position and where you put your weight....

ive heard the corbin is harder....till it breaks in.....never sat on one though

Yep, that's good mileage...  but maybe it's the kind of seat time.  Ride the same amount of miles you do on a ride but don't stop or stop less frequently.  I hate stopping, but sometimes you just have to.  I came from the cruiser world to sportbikes and at first couldn't ride my F4i for very long at all.  It's kinda like working out -- you have to build up to it.

the corbin seat is supposedly pretty cushy but doesnt allow you to move around as much on the seat

I've got a Sargent on my RC51 and it's great. No more butt burn.

If you want a cheap alternative the 06 has a MUCH softer seat than the 04's.  My seat feels like a sheet of plastic with a vinyl cover, my buddy has an 06 and you can make a hand print on his seat.  They are only about $30-50 used on eBay and the Corbin is closer to $250.

Honestly now my ACE just goes numb and doesnt hurt until I get off and start walking around again.  I just very rarely stay on it for 2+ hours.  Hell I think only twice have I put in that kind of mileage at once.

I removed the vinyl and cut a tempur pedic pillow to match the seat size, slapped it on top of the other cushion and put the vinyl back on.  looks ugly but feels great.
