Just bought an 05 silver f4i. I have been riding for a grand total of a week. I am looking into a slip on exhuast, but have a quick question. DO I need tuning for this mod? What other mods can I do that WONT require tuning. Thanks.

You wont need tuning for a slip on, only a full exhaust.

You can also add a -1 front sprocket and a +2 rear sprocket to beef up the acceleration but you lose a couple MPH on the top end, not much though.

Getting a K&N air filter is up to you, some guys like them, some dont think it does anything. Personally I think its best to have a good air filter so I bought one myself.

If you get a full exhaust down the road than invest in a PowerCommander USB. You can tune your bike with the power mods you have on it with the custom maps that PowerCommanders website already has.

P.S.
If anyone else has some more mods than please add on to my list!

Thanks for the quick advice. I will look into the k&n and the sprockets. Does the new air filter make the intake louder similar to a car or does a bike not suck in enough air for a new filter to make a diff?

From your local motorcycle dealer.

I have 2 of them that are close to me and another about 45 minutes away

K&N filter will not add much more performance to your bike at all.....1hp.....if even that. Some even say that it doesn't add any power or sometimes a power loss.

The only reason I bought a K&N is because it's cheaper. I spent $45 on the K&N filter one time instead of spending $37 on a Honda replacement filter that'll need to be changed in the future again & cost another $37. Do the math...u know??
Just clean & reoil the K&N for $10 (that's what the cleaner kit cost)

Check out ebay for the K&N filters. I got mine brand new from a seller called "roadrunner-performance" for only $45 SHIPPED ($36 + $9 to ship it)

Here's the cheapest one I found for you ($46.99 SHIPPED):

NO prob....that's probably the best price you'll find for the K&N air filter though

Unless the guy I bought mine from relists some more, and he was the cheapest price I ever saw/found for a new K&N filter. But it's only a $3 more difference
