Rear dog bone install

Anyone know how to install a rear dogbone for the suspension? Let me know whats needed and what i need to remove, if i can just take my lowered link off and replace it with oem that would be great, if i have to remove the rear wheel and rear shock let me know.

I have done it on my brother-in-laws ninja. They look similar. He had it lowered and then didn't like it. I put it up on stands then used a floor jack to manipulte under shock assembly to get bolts out. I didn't have to remove rear tire. I was just real careful with the jack so not to make the bike unstable. If I remember right I have  heard of guys doing it on just the side stand, but I couldn't get floor jack under the bike(too low). Be careful and have a buddy help ya in case it wants to tip.

After thinking about it, are you talking about the links or the main assembly that the shock hooks too. The one I did was only the links to control height.

The dog bone is not hard to do.  I had some ratchet straps and a swing set because we didnt have a garage with rafters.  Just hang the rear of the bike up and put a block under the tire so it doesnt drop really far when you disconnect the suspension.  To get the dog bone out you have to loosen up 2 other bolts along with taking out both the top and bottom bolts that hold it on.  Otherwise you will be able to wiggle it but it will never drop out.  Remember you only have to loosen the other bolts.  You dont have to take them out.
 
I would just like to add that you will probably not like riding the bike anymore because it will dip into corners abruptly instead of smoothly like it would with stock height.  I took mine back off because of it.

Oh maybe i didn't make this clear but im raising it back up haha. Its lowered and well a bike at stock height handles best so i ordered a used one from MDGracing (great guy btw) and will be installing it today. Is there anything i should do differently now?

Heres an idea though.  Go buy a Haynes F4i manual.  It worked wonders for me.

I have one of those i downloaded, and the bike fell as i was working on it haha but lucky me no damage or broken bones.
