Hi,

Wonder if anybody can help please?

I want to remove the pillion footpegs from the Blade which is easy enough to do BUT the right peg mount also acts as the upper mounting bracket for the plastic heat guard cover.

I could just leave the cover off but the metal shield underneath isn't exactly pretty and I'd like to retain it if I can.

Anybody out there done this mod and found out a way to overcome this neatly and easily?

I thought about buying a 2nd hand peg off ebay or somewhere and simply cutting off the required bit but don't think that this would end up looking too good.

Thanks

Roger

If you have the stock rearsets on you`ll still have one screw holding it in, plus theres a plastic tab around the central part which it stick in a hole on the actual exhaust cover, these both should keep it still. I`ve changed mine and I have no screw holding it in at all just the tab (Cos i changed to rearsets too)

+1 on that. Just put a nut on the back of the allen head bolt so you don`t have an extra hole where the rearset used to be. you can move it a little by hand but it will be fine while riding..

Yeah i have the carbon fibre heat shield for mine, the one bolt holds it together fine!! And how much better does the blade look with no pillion pegs!!!
