Ive had my bike for one season now -- '01 f4i. My rear seat latch keeps coming off. Last time I had to pay $30 just for one screw because they didn't sell it seperate from all the other parts. Is anyone else having this problem? Where is a cheap site to order one?

30 bucks for one missing screw is insane !!!!! Did you just try a hardware store or anything ? I know any "special" screw or bolt I loose or mangle can usually be found some where for a few cents.... and then lock-tite the bastard.....

When the screw came off, the spring came out also. I didn't get a chance to really look at it this time. I walked by my bike this morning and moved my seat, and the seat just lifted straight up. "here we go again" picked the seat up and didn't even see the whole seat latch. Hopefully its burried somewhere down underneath the seat. But this is the second time. I guess i'll try the hardware store, but dont know if i can get all the small parts if they are missing.

Mine was gone when I bought it. I have been shopping for the whole assembly, but look at www.powersportspro.com or www.bikebandit.com. You can look at oem parts and they break down the part #'s. I hope this helps.

You can check out RonAyers.com also. They have all of the screw and bolt size there, then pick them up at the hardware store.

smaller hardware stores are usually where you can find any of those bolts that you will need.

I picked up quite a few metric bolts from ACE Hardware here in Denver.

Oh yeah, and use loctite!

While you're at it, you could throw an electric trunk release in there. RELEASE
