Just bought an 05 600F4i and hit the reserve for the first time. The RES and 4 bars lit up. After 8 miles, bar one started blinking. Within 7 more miles bar two started blinking. Within 2 more miles bar 3 and then bar 4 were blinking. After stopping for fuel, the tank was full with 3.9 gallons, which indicates that there was about .8 of a gallon left. Has anybody else had this experience? From reading the manual I thought that the tank should be about empty with 4 bars flashing.

all f4i does it....it like a count down til it's empty even when 4 bars are flashing...it just mean that you better get some gas in it or you will have to push it

Yup. Had the same experience. I was definately sweating because I had all four light up and I was three miles to the nearest service station. I thought I was going to be pushing and I was on the highway, and not looking forward to that, needless to say. I had about 0.4 gallons left which would've been something close to 18 miles. Honda does it to scare you into filling up early. Kinda the same logic as the over-estimating speedo.

it's an idiot proofing thing.. empty isn't empty and I'll tell you why... if you run out of gas with fuel injection you can do some damage. I've made it all the way home from work with 4 bars.. Not a good idea anytime.
