REVs drop on CBR while riding

I have a 2002 F4I which I have been riding right along without any issues.  The last time I was on the bike the revs kept cutting out.  They would drop a couple thousand RPMs and sometimes it would completely drop down to zero as if it shutdown but then it would jump back up to where it's supposed to be.  I turned around and drove it home and haven't ridden it yet.  Any ideas on what it's doing?  Any help would be great. was the FI light on?

were you low on gas? Go get some injector cleaner, run it through, then go get a full tank...
 
 

Is air filter OK?

Thanks for the replies guys.  What it turned out to be was a loose boot on the number 2 cylinder plug.  Totally makes sense with how it was running.  It's back up and going so doing a little riding.  woohoo!!
