Rolling off the throttle..

Hey all so I got my f4 and maybe its just because I was riding a different bike before but this f4i really throws me forward when I let off the throttle without any braking. do you guy think that I should be concerned about the brakes not lining up? like any motorcycle its worse at higher rpms, but even in low 2nd gear and low 3rd gear ( 2-3k rpms) it will really push me forward and my speed quickly drops.. any thoughts?? thanks! <3

sounds as tho it may have lower gearing (less teeth on front sprocket, more on the rear). I'd check that first. Are you rolling off the throttle or just snappinng it shut? It will be jerky or jumpy if so.

granted I am still getting used to the throttle and do roll off quickly I still dont think im snapping it...  so should I go count the sproket teeth on the front and rear do you think?

it should have the number of teeth stamped on the sprockets. the stock is 16 for the front and 46 for the rear i think? feel free to correct me anyone.....

and what do you mean by the brakes dont line up?

Wouldnt hurt if it seems snappier than it should be. Stock rear teeth count is 46. Front is 15 or 16 I think.

well my first bike is my 600rr, and it is pretty harsh with the on-off throttle, from what i hear it is a little more abrubt than a lot of other bikes, and a lot of people say a power commander really helps with the smoothness at least with the on transition

or your idle could be too low

just checked the gearing and it looks to be stock 46 in the rear but hard to tell on the front, but looks OEM...

what i thought was happening from my experience with normal bicycles is when the rear or front brake is not lined up and drags whenever in motion.. is that possible with a motorcycle? seems like it might be but im not sure.

well, its normal to hear a little bit of brake drag on anything with disc brakes. it should be very slight though, as the pad just kinda rests on the rotor when no pressure is applied. is that what you mean?

it could be a vacuum leak or clogged injectors or some other mechanical reason as well. 

Mine is similar, worse when two up,, throttle response is very abrubt both on/off and off/on, some say a PCIII and a good map will help smooth it out.

The higher the RPM, the more compression the engine braking has, what RPM are you rolling off at?

My understanding is a PC3 only band-aids this problem. Correct form is to slip the cluth off at the end of the gear to make the ride more smooth.

hrmm for clogged injectors would a fuel additive be the right way to go? vacum leak sounds more serious and i want to think there isnt that problem =p

+1 on slippling the clutch off - I do this always when slowing down, then I blip the throttle to ease to the next gear (both downshifting and upshifting)  It also sounds cool ;-)
