Dumb or not, you don't hit a guy and run. You stick it out. They've got a video of it! If the SUV would have stopped, the video clearly shows the guy being wreckless and it would have been the bikers fault and the bikers insurance. You drive away after possibly hurting someone, even IF they're being stupid... and that video (which clearly shows the license plate at the end before they slow it down) is now proof of a hit and run... a much bigger deal and turns fault back to the SUV driver.

Leaving a scene of an accident, any accident, is a pu**y move. That kind of thinking is the kind that met me walking out to my bike with a broken mirror and scratches on my lower fairings in a key-pass guarded lot with no note/witness/nothing.

/end rant.

The dude was probably scared he just hit a bike and there are bikers every where. You know how a crowd can turn against you in an instant. Not sure if I would of stopped right there if it were all Harley riders.  Would you if you were solo and didn't know anyone?

Exactly. The law says you stop and file a police report. It doesn't matter what people on the side of the road think. The camera proves it all.

Well the dude hit him in the rear. So, in all reality it couldn't have been the bikes fault since the bike never hit the guy. Its very comparable to someone slowing down and the person behind them hitting them. At the beginning you can see parts of the bike and SUV before the bike even started doing a stoppie. The SUV is tailgating the bike all the way around the turn.

That's a double nope.

Maybe the suv was trying to get to a safe spot to pull over.
I know I wouldn't want to stop my vehicle on a blind inside part
of a curve.  Plus the driver was probably intimidated by all the stunt'n squids.

Curves, bikes & camera's = crash

If I ever see a video camera taping me I am gonna slow down like
I have training wheels on my bike.

Must have taken place in Massachusetts.  People always seems to hit and run here.

I was driving in my New Xterra about a month back.  Some idiot was tailgaiting me in a VW Jetta, then proceeded to pass me in a no passing zone (and I was going about 10 mph over the speedlimit myself) and cut in front of me ... side swiping me in the process.  After that he attempted to take off.  I chased the guy for 3-4 miles before he finally pulled over.  I had to show so much restraint not to kick the kids ass.

Then a couple days ago somone pulled out in front of my friend and ended up hitting the back of her car ... and they just took off.

People around here just drive like a$$ holes.  Luckily, there some good country areas were I ride my bike.

Sorry just had to vent ...

The smaller the local populace, the smaller the number of idiots/assholes living there. Thus, I live in more rural areas. Fewer people that piss me off.

Wow, that was pretty stupid, but could have been much worse. Shit, I believe in stopping and all but their must have been over 10 of the guys friends their so he was going to have plenty of care. The fact that all those guys could gang up and freak out on the SUV would be my reason to flee from that shit. I don't believe in reporting accidents, and I doubt that a stunter is going to be claiming an accident like that on their insurance...if they have any.

I haven't ever seen a person or bike who'd win in a fight with an SUV. You don't get out of the car if you're out numbered until a LEO arrives.

FTP! No damage was done there. Now if that all would have happened at say 50mph...it would be a diffrent story and then I'd see a reason to be callin in officials. Nothin in that vid would provoke me to be callin in law enforcement or EMTs...it wasn't that bad.
