I got a used F4 seat for real cheap.  I am just waiting for it to arrive.  Once it does I will begin (attempt) to make the cover.  I take pics and keep everyone updated.

I didn't know how my attempt at a rear seat cowl would turn out so I didn't take any photos of the process but I wish I would have.  I have some pictures of it here.

Please excuse the "Road Rash" on the cowl.  I neglected to ensure it was fastened down correctly at my last trackday and it came off the bike at about 120mph.  It held up pretty well considering.

Well I decided to give it a try for an F4 banana seat.  I first ordered a used banged up seat, then went about covering it with fiberglass.  After about 4 layer I let it harden and took it off.  I still have to trim it and then add about another 3 layers after I mold the speed hump.  It will then be sanded and off to paint.  I will post more updates.  Here are some pic's so far.

Here is what it looks like before I trimmed it.

I'm glad you guys posted all your pictures and tips. I've always wondered if this could be a "do-it-yourself" project. Looks like a lot of work but there's nothing like the feeling of making something with your own hands.

I'm gonna take this project to a different level though. I have an extra tail section that I want to turn into a race fairing. So I'm gonna use my seat as a mold like Arkas suggested and then I'll see if I can fill the "seat hole" to transform the whole tail fairing into a race fairing.

I'll come back in a couple weeks with some pictures.
Thanks guys!

Damn....where were you guys about 6 months, tons of aggravation, and now, $500 later?

I had to get an Opps Racing Carbon Fiber tail piece, which will look great...but...shit...

Anyway...nice work...
