and the side.

the top clip is two tone when you look from the front, hence the slightly darker side panels.... feel free to comment...

looks good, I think if you painted your ram air tubes the same color as your tank though the whole bike would stand out that much more.

I like the idea though

actually i got it off ebay, its for a cb600 hornet.... i think the seller was called artfibrus or somethin similar, just had to make mounts....

i agree with the ram air ducts, but wasnt sure how to get the paint to stick properly, b/c of its wrinkle finished... i have another set, so might give them a hit and see how it turns out...

thanks for the replies

artfibrus is some quality stuff that fairly inexpensive. i remember getting my undertail from him for like 130 shipped with a glass undertray molded in too.

only thing that made me weary was that it was coming from brazil so it took a while.

bike looks nice dude

BTW thanks for the replies.... nice that its gettin a good response.... alot of ppl that see it mistake it for an SV suzuki, untill i start it...

BTW just though you guys with the F4i's would like to know, if you like your old calipers, but would like them gold, get a set of SP2/RC51 calipers, they are exactly the same caliper but gold.... here is a pic, got rid of the GSXR1000 calipers, the stock master cylinder isnt really up to the task... so am using these now...

Great job. It's trick and original. Just an FYI that I painted my air duct covers and it came out fine despite the different textured finish.

Trixtrem,

I am thinking about undergoing a similar process as yourself.  I have a post already up about "Transform f4i into Naked Bike."  Could you have a look at it?  I would like some of your ideas.

I got some good ideas for my bike from yours.  I especially like the oil catch fairing.  I will have to include that, but I want to do something different with the front cowl of my bike.  I want my bike to go a little more naked.  I'm not sure if its possible or not yet, but I am exploring the options

Looks real nice man!  It's refreshing to see someone trying something new with their bike.  I dig the classic CB you own too!

This thread was made in 06 and guy hasn't logged in since 07 don't think he'll answer your question.  Looks clean though.

I remember looking at your bike a while ago and trying to figure out how to steal and re duplicate your idea. I think it is one of the sickest looking f4is around. For people that dont know the bike world they will probably stare at and see nothing changed and thats what I like. Like chip foose says a real complimant is when someone stares, then stands back and says what did you do?

sorry for the long delay guys, i have taken up study and have moved country also, so have been a little busy,  the calipers are 100% interchangeable, as are the '02 gsxr1000 6 potters, though i would get the gsxr mastercylinder

the bike i dont own anymore, and good friend af mine bought it so its sorta still in the family,  lol,  he is back home in Australia... so i get to ride it when i head home, he is looking after it which is good...lol

the OL CB is a keeper and in storage back home also, fully rebuilt, i wont say restored cos its not factory original, but 836cc big bore kit, electronic ignition, straight through exhaust, she goes great... though at 256kg she is a heavy ol thing... thanks for noticing her...:P

andrewsi- mate will head over nad have a look at your thread and give you a hand if you want... thanks for the notice also.

i never did get around to painting the duct covers, but my friend spray fillered then and smoothed tham out, he says they look great, so will wait fro pics..:P

to everyone else will try to keep in touch about the bike...

thanks heaps for the comments..

Looks SWEEEET!  Alomost like the 07RR!

I know it looks like a pretty straight forward mod......but a write-up would be really cool!

--the only thing i did with the side panels was cut them about 5-10mm below the wing decal, this gave me material to line the leading edge on the nose cone up with the sides, you will c what i mean when you look at where the side panels and the nose cone meet, there is an overlap.

--used a hot 'stanley' knife i think you guys call the utility knives. then fitted, rubbed and fitted and rubbed..etcx etc..... looking back i should have just ran a line parallel to the bottom of the wing decal and been done with it!!! lol.

--the belly pan was a bolt on affair in three places, but needed a mount made for the clutch side, also a bit trimmed off the back to accomodate the exhaust exit. The got some 10year black vinyl and blacked out part at the front to tie in with the black on the tank.

--the undertail was straight forward, but i had to fit it to the taillight, and drill it for the mount plugs, no big deal.

hope this helps..

I have been riding without my side faring becuase I just like the half faring look.  Let me ask a couple questions!

1) did you just cut your lowers to extend the upper a little?
2) how did you find matching paint and where can I get some.
3) what did you do with your left side tubes that come down through the lower?
