Well I ate a 2006 Corvette C6 tonight from a 20-roll...  Beat him pretty good..  Not a complete raping!  But I had him by a car-length...  Then shortly after his buddy in a HEAVILY MODIFIED Mustang GT wanted a piece (2005, 5spd, 150 shot NOS, Bassani X-pipe, you get it!) ...  The mustang handed it to me on a silver platter...  But the fact of the matter here is that I wooped a C6 Vette.  These things are nasty fast!!!

Unless that Mustang was running better than a 10.5 quarter mile, the bike would have it's way with him. (and it would have it's way with the Vette by at LEAST 2 seconds as well). But that's all a matter of the rider.

I would recommend practicing launches during a track day. (no offense, but many people (myself included) have a difficult time launching bikes properly). If you nail the launch, there's no way they would touch you until about 150-ish, and that's when the gap closes very quickly.

Well from a 20-roll you have already built up plenty of momentum...  I have yet to race from a dig with anyone..  I agree with how launching these things can be tricky...

A Mustang with headers, exhaust, and a 150 shot is not "heavily moddified". You should have beat him. In fact just last night, I ran my good friend in his heads/cam ls1 and beat him from a roll, and that ****er is fast.

Guess whos back! :) .......Now that thats out of the way.......I think someone needs some more shifting practice:). You should have been more ahead than that? 20 mph start. Where you in 3rd gear starting or something lol?

While against the Mustang I was in 1st and raised it up off the ground when I punched it..  After i brought it back down I nailed 2nd and shifted prematurely into 3rd...  But at about 130mph I was well on my way past him and coming up on a red light quick...  So had the red light not been there, definite victory..  But he did get me fair and square...

BTW - only had the CBR 1 week now..  Gettin use to the different bike/power comin from a 2003 R6...

Just so ya know for a car to beat your bike it should lift the tires. It would have to be a 10 sec car. I have never lost to a car on the street thats for damn sure. And if I did I would want to dig a hole and jump in it. A car weighing around 3500-4000 pounds needs over 1000 horses to beat a 600rr. As long as the person knows how to race.
terrible one

wow are you serious? a lot of cars with the right suspension can lift the front tires, that does not mean anything....
1000hp? wow maybe to beat up on liter bikes but your 600 will get stomped on by cars making 500 to the wheels. as soon as the damn search function works on my other sites ill post some videos of slightly modded cars tearing 600s new ones

I used to own a 480whp integra and i definately used to walk down 600's up top and I still had full interior. As for Supras (i now have a 99 hardtop tt stock) the entry fee to play with litre bikes is generally 800whp+, full interior, and that about 1.75 tons (3500lbs) dripping wet. Be careful, 500whp civics are dime a dozen theses days, and they WILL walk on you.

Well the C6 is rated at 405whp....
The Mustang I ran is 500whp easy with everything done to that car...
Had I not missed second (stupid mistake) and if we would have had a little more room to open them up then it would have been another victory..  He has 4.10's out back so it is a 1/4 mile car no doubt..  After that the top speed might be 130-140 on that thing..  But it gets there quick thats for sure...

OMG maybe people that do not know how to ride a damn bike. If u lose to a regular size car with 500hp... you suck and should sell your bike. Shit my friend has a 575hp mustang and my stock bike will smoke it. Lets do some math.... i believe a 600 is around 350 lb dry but close enough plus 160 lb rider weight = 510lb bike with abour 105hp. Car 4,000 lb will need approx 824hp to be somewhat close to the bike. Plus the car has 4 tires which means more friction due to bearings and the friction between tire and track. Figure the coefficent of k friction, multiply that by the mass and gravity and then multiply it by the distance and somehow convert that to energy blah blah blah and add that to the hp. Then figure in the friction do to wind resistance for the car (which is huge compared to the bike) and you are somewhere near 1000hp. I know this is just rough and there are a lot more factors in the equation such as gear ratios tire size.... but anyways maybe a 500hp car will beat a 600 but it would have to weight 2000 lbs. Maybe a rice burner but not a mustang. I have yet to see a street legal car running around 10 sec with street tires. I have seen 600's run 13sec and 10 sec. it all depends on the rider

Enough with the theory already...ive seen enough 600's get killed (by myself as well) to know what im talking about.

Going from a dig and going from a roll are 2 completely different scenarios. All my kills were from a roll cuz as you know, hondas are FWD so they suck from the line (unless ur on beefy axles and drag radials). And I am talking about relatively stock bikes ofcourse. Ive yet to see any car catch a busa on spray for example...even against single turbo 850whp+ supras and twin turbo ford GT's. But in general a 500whp import will have its way with a stockish 600 from a roll up to 120 thereabouts.

Ok, like I said, WITH A NEW RIDER .... MAYBE, but this discussion is not going to happen again.

You guys have to be shitting me here?  A STOCK bike will be hard pressed to run a 1.70 in the 60ft.......a drag car (even street legal) can roll that shit in under 1.60 easily.  It takes a DAMN good rider to get a stock ride height bike in the 1.7 range.  You just got your ass handed to you in the first 60ft.  While you're trying not to wheelie, he's smoking your ass.  A 3200lb car (if it's going to mess with a rocket it will be that light, they aren't called "sleepers" for no reason) with 600hp has 5.3lbs/HP.  A 600cc anything weighing in at a realistic 420lbs with gas and a more realistic 180lbs rider pushing 105hp to the tire has  5.7lbs/HP.  You just got SMOKED.  That car will kick the ****ing snot out of you off the line.........I dont care how goddamn good you THINK you are.........if you aren't in the 1.7 60ft range......you're getting walked.
There are plenty of 9 second steet cars out there and they would all love to whip up on your little 600 when you get cocky.
This is a dumb, beat to death topic.  If you think you can ride your 600 to a 10second 1/4 with out some SERIOUS practice time.......bring that thing out........I want to take your money.

You are proving my point. Your power is  inversly proportional to your time. I just figure it with a 4000 lb car and my weight and what i thought a bike was... noones perfect. I never said that there were no street legal 10 sec cars. I just said I have yet to see one. Yes ive seen bikes lose to cars but mostly because the kid just bought a bike and thinks they are a bad ass but know nothing about it. If you are fighting a wheelie off the line then you need to practice a little more. Also there is a huge amount of energy lose do to friction for a car compared to a bike. So gixxereater your 3200 lb car with 600hp will probably lose to an experienced rider. and finally i have seen stock 600s run in the 10 sec with a good rider. We all have our opinions and noone is wrong and noone is right. I am just telling you from my experiences.

Hey man it's no thing...  I'm not the most experienced rider on here thats for sure...  I just have a great bike...  I've gotten a little better with my shifts and this friday is a re-match...  He wants me from a dig..  But I told him a 20-roll..  So we may do both and if this post is still around I will let you know the results now that I'm use to this new bike..  Comin from an R6 that felt completely different...
