do most people take their bikes to the dealer for the timely service or do you guys do it yourself?

i havnt had to go to the dealer yet.  The only thing that i think i might have to take it in for is fork seals when they start to go bad.  I never did anything that complicated before.  Just seams like a big project to me and i would do it myself but would hate to screw something up.       guess well see when that time comes

Yeah, you'll save big if you do the fork seals (or any service) yourself.  I just took in the ass from the dealer to the tune of about $400 to have mine redone.  And it's an '05 with only 2,600 miles on it.  Not what I expect out of a Honda.

Dont go to the dealer anymore because one of my friends works on honda bikes and working with him is a hole lot cheaper and he shows me certain things that i can do on my own.
