hey guys , i just ordered a complete set of shogun sliders from Moto911.com (great site). does anyone have any experience installing these , i ordered the No cut sliders , i guess they have a some sort of offset plate to direct the slider away from the fairing, therefore requiring no modification to the actual bodywork. also i orders bar ends, and swingarm slider witch double as mounts for a rear race stands. These shogun sliders seems to be the nicest sliders i could find. any info would be appreciated, thanks guys !!
Bike is a 05 1000rr repsol (love it)

Sorry, you beat me to getting mine. I've been looking at them for a while. Please let me know how you like them. It seems like it would be a pretty simple install. If you could send me pics, that would be even better. Later.

This is the left swingarm slider, install self explanatory. Just use a little locktight.

I removed this rubber piece from my new bar ends to make it work, tried to take out the Honda hardware but gave up. It works just fine. Just use the hardware provided.

This is the left frame slider installed, remove the upper cowling only.

Remove this bolt from the frame and remember the lock tight.

This is what it looks like from above without removing the cowling. See where it attaches.

BTW my frame sliders, swingarm sliders, and bars ends are Lockhart Phillips carbon fiber with removable end caps (different colors avalible). Got them at 58cycle.com, good website. Kinda pricey but worth it. Coulden't find them any cheaper. I like the carbon fiber look.
yeah i was about to say they look like lp frame sliders. do you have to cut for the lp's?

They are the no cut frame sliders. It comes with a bracket that bolts to the frame.

Hey guys, I was at the shop the other day and when I mentioned getting some shogun no cuts, the mech almost took my head off... He said the no cut offset brakets are prone to bending and the bike gets jacked anyways...... Can I get some thoughts from you guys ???? I would really hate to cut up my plastic....

I'd say the guy at the shop is right on. Looks like a good hit would break the extention bracket right off. You could always cut your plastics after you scratch them if you bike ever goes down. That way you wont feel so bad cutting into new undamaged ones.

Just dont dump your bike on the left side , the no-cut sliders can bend and break the waterpump elbow requiring you to drop the motor to replace it.

i did drop mine on the left side, not moving thankfully, and the slider and bracket held up just fine. i don't know how theyll hold up once your up to speed, but hopefully i wont find out firsthand. just a note, make sure to put some locktite on the bolt holding the slider to the bracket, i just noticed one of mine fell off.

I've got the R&G set - OK they need the fairing to be cut but they are a direct bolt into the engine mount - I looked at all versions but the guys at Honda and the UK British Superbike team reckoned the straight-attach type are the best as all the others would bend on impact.
They sell them as FRAME protectors not as fairing protectors - guess the fairing would be pretty much mashed if you had an off but cheaper than replacing the frame.
I have R&G frame protectors and fork protectors - about to order the swingarm protectors for next season.
Just my 2d worth.
