I just got an 05 f4i and I was thinking converting the tail to the 01-03 style. I'm partial to the 2 piece seat rather than the 1 big one but I want to know what everyone thinks. Is the conversion worth it? I know that i can buy a seat cowl from targa for around 200 bucks that will elminate the one piece seat look but for a few more hundred bucks i can pull off the conversion. I was looking to eventually put on a high mount exhaust and I didn't know how it would come out with the one big seat because i haven't seen any F4's or 04-05 F4i's with the high mount. So what does everyone think, seat cowl or conversion? Thanks for any thoughts and input.

I'd go with the conversion, that's what I'm doing to my 05 f4i. I'm looking for the parts now and hope to get them asap. I can't wait. I hate my "banana" seat that came on the 99-00 04-05.

here's a link to a site that has a good pic of a f4 with the seat cowl. It'll be the same on an 04-05 f4i. The pic is at the bottom of the page.
http://forums.cbrworld.net/forums/149153/ShowPost.aspx If you go to the pictures section of this forum and just look at any 2001-2003 f4i then u'll see the difference between the 2 bikes. I'm debating on whether or not to just put a cowl on my 05 or do the conversion to the older style tail.
