smoke coming out of exhaust?

hey guys my friend just told me that sometimes the bike smokes. he said it looks black which means it's running rich right? i neveer noticed it before like when its idling but when i get the rpms high it happens. all i have on the bike is a jardine carbon fiber slip on do you guys think that has soimething to do with it?

You should take it back to the dealer you blew the motor! Na just playing, is it a brand new bike? Is the pipe new? If so it's normal. What color is the smoke? It can be alot of things causing it to smoke.

A pipe without a power commander will usually cause a bike to run a little lean.

i was hoping it was just that. guess i have to get a power commander besides there is a flat spot in the low rpms anyway since i put on the exhaust.
