So, I flew off my bike today EDIT: PICS Page 1

This morning sucked!!!!!!
PICS BELOW I highsided making a left at an intersection. I leaned in a little too much in uneven road and I tried to bring the bike back up too fast and boom!
Here's what it kind of looked like:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzsScCnW9AA Damage done to right frame slider, right mirror shattered, front fairing cracked, right fairing, and I have yet to get a good check on it. There may be some more damage. I was wearing full gear. Had the suit on, boots, gloves, helmet, and my backpack. I was coming home from school. My backpack sure did save my suit from being rashed though. My backpack took a beating.
No major injuries. I only have a big contusion on my right elbow. This sucks...it's going to cost me so much money that I don't have to fix it. I guess I'll make something work. Maybe I should just get those fairings from Hong Kong...haha.
ehh....watch the road people and ride safe. Gear up!!
Pics up later if I can get a chance to take it.

Yeah, she's still rideable. After I flew off my bike and rolled around, I jumped right back up and ran to her. I picked her up and rolled her to safety. I looked at the damages and I cried on the inside. Then I started her back up and rode home slowly. My pride and confidence is taking a beating.

at least you can still ride it. if you need new plastics this place is about 500 bucks for everything. they have all the factory colors/schemes... everyting. you can sell what ever peices you dont need by themselves and prob fix yur bike for free.

Stupid question here-ive seen em a thousand times, but what exactly causes a highside wreck? I understand lowsiding a bike. Ive watched a ton of videos but cant seem to make the connection in my mind as to what happens when someone highsides their bike, I mean what are the physics involved?

Well in that video it looked like he hammered on the throttle the rear tire lost traction skid and then all of a sudden stuck to the ground. With the front and rear tire out of line both trying to go two seperate directions and WHAMMY!!!!

dang FFCBRf4i, sorry to hear but kudos on the gear .. my biggest fear is those Progressive insurance gremlins coming out of nowhere to take me down .. glad they only got your bike and didn't get you.
420, in addition to what sb said, most common cause (there are others) is when locking the rear brake and letting go mid slid causing quick traction regain and bucking you off toward the moon.

Glad your ok man, as long as your in one piece the bike will take care of its self eventually.

Glad your ok man and sorry about the bike. I had a deam last night that I crashed my bike, but I jumped off into the grass and was fine, but my sweet F4 was rashed up. I woke up mad LOL!
I have put 1K miles on my bike this spring and sometimes I wounder why I ride with all that can go wrong. I guess it's the fact that I love to ride so much I take the risk like we all do.

That totally sucks balls man. I haven't high-sided before, did it hurt or was it like low siding, just on the opposite side of the bike?
