I think I've read 6 brand new, 2008, fresh from the press stories about some our members hitting pavement this year.

I'm not sure if any one of them said it was something they SHOULD have been able to avoid - but they were riding over their admitted limits.

Ride safe guys.  Let's have a reality check before someone logs out for good.

Dude it's not like that at all.  I hope everyone can see that.

I'm only pointing out the alarming fact so we can all think a little more - myself included!  I'm not going to defend myself from your comments because I think you are the only one who is taking offense at it, and why not?  You had an accident today... I'm sorry for that.

This is about everyone.  I've already made a few posts about the 929 and how much fun I'm having with it - it's not even APRIL and I've been out rompin' that thing like I"ve owned it forever.

TK is right, too.  It's been an unseasonably long winter for everyone in the country this year.  People are getting antsy... myself included.

I'm really not an asshole, I'd appreciate the benefit of the doubt, at least.

Sorry Kid. Looking back at your post, I jumped the gun. Body is starting to stiffin up and I am contiplating going to the ER. A little on edge.

Not trying to start anything, and I totally agree. This has been a sad start to the season for most of us. I hate reading these post's. Everytime I do I just am thankfull its not me. But now it is. This sucks, but it could be allot worse. I have family that have not faired as well with gaurd rails.

Wish you well and a long safe season!

Although I view kid as an ass on some occasions, I feel that this thread was justified. We're already downing riders like crazy this year. It's something that should be brought to light so others don't make the same mistakes. We want to help others through our personal experiences. Going down is ugly, but it's an ugly that those who have not done it will not understand. We're not kicking you while you're down. We're trying to curb the enthusiasm of the new season at hand so we aren't seeing any RIP threads.

Edit: you got your correction post in before this, but I don't feel that the message needs to change.

P.S.  Yeah I do remember going down on dirtbikes.  I remember that it is worse the next day too... have you made up your mind at what point you'll go to the hospital/doctors office?

When you said, "stiffen up," it took me right back to that feeling - I know exactly what you're talking about.

Ahh calm down guys! ... sorry to hear about your misfortune D. I too already went down early in the season. Kid... we do appreciate the concern and if you read carefully between your lines, you can see you do mean good. Yes its early and a lot of have gone down. That is true. And hopefully not many more will be come to our fate.

We all need to ride safe and realize its still very early in the season for most and haven't logged many miles yet and roads have changed.

Please next time.... think about wording it differently is all we are trying to say.

I dont think any of it is bad. It was just stating fact. It sucks that people have gone down, I went down last year. But if it is played off and worded so no one gets "hurt", people will just push it off and pay not attention. It needs to grab people attention.

I totally agree.

I hope that my experience is a good lesson to all to take it easy. It is more important to make it home in one piece than to not make it home at all.

Honestly D... I know you said you jumped the gun and i know a lot of you, as do I ...think this topic needs to be brought up. A lot of us have gone down but when Kid says it like above. ... you sound ignorant. Kid if you've read the threads(which Im almost sure you have) then you would clearly see that 2 of the 3 I've read, did own up to the fact. Again I'm not trying to get on anyones case because, as the saying goes ...(if the shoe fits wear it). I'm just saying this topic could have been worded better for other sake.

It's like I'm reading about a new accident everyday, but as far as I know, nobody has been seriously hurt yet, and thank God for that much *knock on wood*

What really sucks is that if I get splattered all over the pavement by a PTA mother in a minivan, nobody on cbrforum.com would even know.

+1 to the buddy system.

I think we already have a pretty close nit group here. This is the only place that I know of where members will do a call out if they have noticed another member post in a while.

How could we operate a true buddy system?
