Here’s a heads up. The site seems to be getting popular for spam lately. I'm sure we all hate it, but there's nothing we can do about it. For the most part that is. If... or I should say when you see spam, pick your favorite moderating a-hole and send the link to him/her. I'll gladly take all the PM's with the link so I can delete the SPAM. I'm sure some of you have noticed... I kind of live on here so it shouldn't be up for long after you PM me. I'm sure the other moderators will be happy to take care of the SPAM as well... we just have to see it first.

the problem is that these are often "bots"...and without possibly hurting the membership by dragging down the application process, i cannot do much about it, shy of deleting/banning.

It cool, just look at it as a complement… if the site sucked and nobody ever came here then the spam @$$ holes would pass us bye, but the site ROCKS, so its an attractive spot for them.

ok. since we are clear on that, i think that the registration should be changed. many forums use the "sign up and respond to an e-mail" way of registering. i don't remember but i don't think this site is that way. it's not too much of a hastle for new members but too much time spent for the a$$hole spammers. just something to think about if the spamming gets worse.

Yeah spamming sucks, apreciate the time taken to try and sort it.

What is this spam you speak of?

When a person joins and posts one thread listing a free Ipod or some crap to the members... trying to get you to go and give them all of your personal info or just selling junk in general.
