starting

OK, my problem seemed to start with my headlights. The lights did not seem to respond to the switch and while this was happening my engine started to sputter. The following day I stated my engine, rode to the end of the driveway and the engine died. It would start up again, but as soon as I gave some gas it would die again. My headlights at this time no longer works. I took it to a Honda dealer and they had trouble locating the problem. They said they got it running without and lights. He said at very hi RPMs the lights would come on, but then shut off immediately. He suggested replacing the rear wire-harness, but spending $925 on an unknown is not my thing, and the front wire-harness costs $250 to replce and I would like to know what the problem is before doing it. Now I have the bike home again searching for a short, fuse, relay or something else. They said they checked all fuses, relays and switches and they all checked out OK....... Can anyone help me with this.

They checked the battery right. I heard the stators are a real problem lately. Just my 2 cent's worth.
